I would really love to be part of a beta program. It makes you feel so special, and I've never been in one. If I'm provided with a pair, I will most definitely do an honest review about it. 

So I used an SPL app, as suggested, on my phone. It might not be in accordance with the audiophile standards, but just to get a rough estimate, I used it anyway. I used 2 apps actually; both vary from each other markedly. With the higher (newer) volume setting, one app gave me a reading of 75...

So I was listening to my Senns about an hour ago, and it was that moment when everything just seems right and you get that unprecedented experience, nearing euphoria. Just to take it a step further, I rotated the volume knob half an hour to the right, and man... the details... the spatial...

This is the only commendable paint-job I've seen recently. Props to whoever did that.

Same was the case with my pair. One smooth as a baby's behind, while the other was a stubborn little guy.

It's not loudness I reckon - it's refinement or something like that.

I was kind of expecting a similar response. I used the word "most" because without doubt you can't really compare them to those inexpensive earbuds. I mean Yes, the bass is deeper with more control, rich and what not. But man, before the HD600s, I could sort of imagine what "hi-fi" (or mid-fi)...

Coming from a pair of cheapos, the thing that changes the most is maybe the treble. Gawd... Now I can't even call that treble anymore. The HD600s are the almost perfect blend of all the musical components that define the listening experience. I can't begin to comprehend what lies ahead...  ...

You can, but with an OTG cable. Android 5 (Lollipop) has USB audio baked right in from the start.
