Yamaha HPH-200 - whose rebrands are these?
I just got an email from Yamaha touting their two new headphones, the fullsize HPH-200 and the IEM EPH-100. Yamaha is very forthcoming in admitting that they don't make their own headphones, and that they're built with another company's assistance. In the past, it was obvious that their RH10MS...- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
The headphones are very comfortable for me, unless I'm wearing my larger, plastic frame eyeglasses.- shnitz

First, make sure that they're real. Second, the K450 were selling for as low as $70 when I bought mine, but I haven't followed pricing recently.- shnitz

Active noise cancellation is a joke. If you want noise cancellation, get yourself IEMs.- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
The K518 are far superior in sound quality. You'll hear things much more clearly with them, even if they do have a bassiness to them. You are incorrect as to the K450 sound. The K450 is like a K430 that tries to sound more fun, rather than the K430's faithfulness. The K430 is more balanced...- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
Thanks meltie, that's exactly what I meant. I was on my way out the door, sorry for the confusion. Let me try that again: - The AKG K430, K450, and K460 definitely use the same housing. When it was just the K430 and K450, before the Q460 were announced, the differences were that the...- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
They are nowhere near K81, which for portable headphones, are in a class above all of these mini on-ear. I now need to test, because we have multiple people claiming that the K450 sounds different than the K460, even though AKG has stated that mechanically they are the same headphone, except...- shnitz

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro or the AKG K 701
Then get the DT880 32-Ohm. A friend of mine bought them, and they're amazing.- shnitz

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro or the AKG K 701
I agree that this is quite the weird comparison. It's like deciding between a Corvette and a fully-loaded truck. Both may cost $60,000 and they're both vehicles, but that's where the similarities end. If you have any worries about driving the headphones, just get the DT770 32-Ohm...- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
It doesn't matter if it was bought from an authorized dealer. What you did is called a gray market purchase. Here is the wikipedia page on it, specifically as it applies to photographic equipment, since it most closely resembles other consumer goods. if you replace "photographic equipment"...- shnitz

If you buy through non-authorized channels, then you have no one to complain to. AKG had no control over the product between when it left their distributors and it then got to you. Part of the cost of buying authorized means that they have control over the product, so they are responsible for...- shnitz

AKG definitely come with a warranty. MAke sure you buy from an authorized dealer. Quote: I actually see jant's review being contrary to yours, and more in line with what I have written previously in this thread and in others about the Q460 being identical to the K450...- shnitz

I'd disagree that $170 is a good deal. You're entering Sennheiser Hd25-1 ii and AKG K181DJ territory at that price. They're less portable, but the sound quality is not even close. I'd only consider that worth it if I were comparing it to Apple store prices, where AKG in that case is cheaper...- shnitz

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?
I am sure that it does one of two things: Increase/decrease volume Adjust playlist forward/backward If it does neither, then which ipod do you have? You should read the fine print, as not all ipods are compatible with the buttons. Edit: For the Denon AH-D510R buttons, here is the...- shnitz
