Monoprice Monolith Liquid Spark - By Alex Cavalli
The stock PSU is 36V 1.25A, which is more power than the LS will ever use. You'll be fine with a 36V 1A power supply. It uses a 5.5mm jack which is the most common size, you can find lots of them on amazon. I would avoid the absolute cheapest ones, because not all SMPS are created equal, some...- Sharpty

Monoprice Monolith Liquid Spark - By Alex Cavalli
I highly recommend checking out BlueSpartan's custom EQ profile for the 58X. For a while I was using the automatically generated EQ profile from AutoEQ on Github, then I came across BlueSpartan's EQ and now I can't listen to the 58X without it. Here's the profile, you might have to change the...- Sharpty

Stacking magnets?
Very well. I understand the general concept of a "driver" and how VC control and resonance play into audio reproduction. It seems you have a good understanding of it. You can gain efficiency and output in the higher frequencies by adding field strength, but at the cost of less resonance and...- Sharpty

Stacking magnets?
Fair enough. Although I would say there is a difference between custom earpads to make your headphones seal better, and changing the magnetic field of a precision driver. I'm not going to take apart my headphones and experiment tho. Especially not based on subjective claims of improved sound...- Sharpty

Stacking magnets?
All this seems rather absurd to me. The magnet of a driver in any decent headphone, is part of the tuning design. It's not like the engineers with hundreds of thousands of dollars in test equipment, are just slapping any old random magnet on there and hoping it sounds good. It seems pretty...- Sharpty

As the pros explain, physical tuning can only go so far, especially with a headphone. When you design a loudspeaker, the tuned box and the room it's in become part of the system and help to smooth out the response of the driver. With headphones this doesn't happen.- Sharpty

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
Ever since I found the more precise EQ settings on the AutoEQ github, I've just been using that. I still think there's room for improvement but I haven't had much time in the last few days to listen. Glad you're interested and liked the EQ settings tho, I will hopefully have an updated one here...- Sharpty

Lifetime warranty doh Also people are far more likely to write negative reviews than positive ones, so take what you read on amazon with a grain of salt.- Sharpty

Superior might not be the best word, the build quality of the 58X is better for sure, but response wise they are just different. 58X Raw response 598 Raw response (grey lines) EDIT: Ya i guess they are superior lol *oops, double post :cold_sweat:- Sharpty

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
Ya, I just discovered that the other day as well. Definitely an interesting piece of kit. I think digital EQ still has more advantages personally. You can be much more precise (kameleon only has a few filters per custom EQ) with digital and you can change it to suit your taste on the fly. With...- Sharpty
