2 weeks? That's crazy fast, not sure when mine will be getting here, I'm in Canada so it will probably take a little longer. I'm curious to see your initial impressions and pictures of course!

    Burson Conductor Virtuoso Thread.

I recently ordered a pair of JH audio 5s and I have a pair of audio engine a5+ powered speakers, how bad is noise floor? I was really hoping to use the pre-amp..

Wouldn't you have been better off getting a soloist + a DAC since the conductor is essentially a soloist + one of those 1793 or 9018 dacs? I head good things about both those dacs, though do you feel like they don't do the amp justice? I'm not too concerned about the sound, this is a huge...

I figured to just go for the virtuoso. For the upgraded usb module, 100 step attenuator and a bad ass remote, not sure about the sound differences but hopefully that somewhat justifies the $300 premium over the original conductor.

Thank you for a great response. I was browsing around and that seems like soloist and irdac is a popular setup. A lot people prefer the soloist + a dac over the conductor for some reason. I'd like to know the differences between the conductor and the virtuoso though. If someone listened to both...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

I found this setup by audiohead,   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiEJSnWKSCw   He says that it's very transparent. I can remove the nano 6g clip and velcro strap it with the ipod and coupled with a low profile line out it ends up being more compact than the fiio x3. I would be also be to...

I didn't know that! I'll test my jh5s with my ipod 5.5g once I get them. And what about the RSA shadow + ipod nano 6G, I was also suggested that.  would you personally take that over the fiio x3? The nano/shadow rig will set me back around around $280 and I see the fiio x3 for as low as $150.

RSA Shadow or Pico Slim? I found the RSA shadow for $220 and the slim for $200 (2nd hand), which one should I get? I have an iPod Classic 5.5 gen and will be using it with Jh audio 5 ciems. I don't have any preference, I'm just looking for good sound, thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! How do you feel about the isolation, can you hear cars on the road or do they completely isolate? and are they more comfortable than universal iems?

Hey, are you guys happy with your JH5s? Are they still worth getting? Also, do they require any amping? I will be running them on my iPod classic generation 5.5 (it has a good wolfsen dac). What amp would you recommend?
