I want your advice on FiiO E17/PS4
I use the E17 with my laptop as the onboard sound has lots of static/noise and some "Beats" processing crap that I don't want. I think it works great. I'd imangine it would work just as well w/ a PS4.- seeker moc

Looking for a multipurpose DAC/Amp
The Fiio E17 would also work for you, and is well under your budget at $140. It has optical and coxial SPDIF, USB, and 3.5mm minijack inputs, and is battery-powered portable so you could use it with your phone as well. It's rated to for 16 - 300 ohms phones. It does 24-bit/192kHz over SPDIF and...- seeker moc

Mid-fi AV Reciever as DAC/Amp vs Headphone Dedicated Amp/DAC
I'd doubt it. I have had several generations of the Onkyo TX-NR 7XX receivers, which usually go for ~ $750. While excellent for home theater speakers, the amp powering the headphonejack is relatively weak. I don't know for sure whether the Martanaz is the same, but it's designed primarily for...- seeker moc

ath-m50x click noise
I also recently went from the M50 to M50x. I noticed the clicking as well when I first got my M50x, but it went away fairly quickly. I assume it's just because it's new and needs to break in a little, not because there's a change with the M50x. I assume the old M50 did the same thing when it was...- seeker moc

Koss ProDj100 - Pad
The pads on my M50 wore out, so I got some aftermarket replacements from Amazon. I'm not sure if they're the same ones you linked to, but they look identical. They were horrible. The pleather hardened and cracked within a month, and the foam was much harder than the originals. Very...- seeker moc

>Help< Travelling to the US in 2 days
You're not going to find anything at a physical store that will beat online pricing. You can always try www.amazon.com, though I don't know if those particular models will go on sale. shopping.google.com will compare prices from various online stores.- seeker moc

Looking for headphones with more features than the price!
There's no need to worry about the durability of the plastic parts of the M50. I've had a pair of the old-style coiled cord M50 that I've been using for the past 3 years of so. I treat them real rough, listen to them nearly every day, transport back and forth to work, frequent business travel...- seeker moc

What is a cheap USB in/ Optical SPDIF out DAC?
I would assume none, as long as it's properly designed. It's just converting digital USB/electrical data to digital SPDIF/optical data. There should be no change in the data itself. As stated before, this is not working as a DAC in this configuration, as there's no digital-to-analog conversion...- seeker moc

Recommendations for ATH-M50 replacement / step up
Thanks. I've tried a couple IEMs before, but I have really small ear openings, and I've never found a pair that fits. They either get squeezed out and fall out of my ears, or are incredibly uncomfortable. I'm really not a fan of Baroque-era classical, as I hate the tinny sound of the...- seeker moc

Recommendations for ATH-M50 replacement / step up
Thank you all for your replies. I'll take a look into your recommendations, and am sure I'll have follow-up questions. Out of curiosity, why would you not recommend the M50s for classical? The only real complaint I have with the M50s is that they're a little uncomfortable after a few hours...- seeker moc

Recommendations for ATH-M50 replacement / step up
Thanks, I've seen those. Is there any difference sound-wise between them and the original M50, or is it just the detachable cord?- seeker moc
