I think I am getting ready to pull the plug and go for the Woo 6SE. I  presently have a Woo 6. Is the 6SE a meaningful upgrade over the 6?

I had a chance to hear both and I found that the JH-13s were more open and had better timbre, better imaging and soundstage.

The GS1000 and a WOO 6 would be close to an ideal combination, providing the following: 1. You are using an accurate souce. An example would be good digital (CD) or analog front end. 2. Your listening is more towards classical or live recorded unamplified music which is not multi mic'd...

I thought that the GS 1000 was designed as a "High End" audiophlie phone and as such will come into its own based on proper amplification and source. Is my assumption wrong and am I off base?????/

I think any phone like say a HD 800, any Grado above RS2, AKG K1000, Stax, and especially a phone like the R10 is over priced......... But then I'm also tone deaf and jealous of people who have the above mentioned phones.......

For me it is my phone cartridge.
