AirPods Max
Can't beat that description! I've been using them for five days and the easy connection (I've got lots of Apple stuff), high level of comfort (The spring in the hinge may be a little strong, not the headband but the hinge), and the fun pleasing sound with a wide variety of compressed music make...- saronian

AirPods Max
After the great number of Beats Studio3 Wireless units Apple was able to sell for $350, they may have concluded that a steel+aluminum Apple designed headphone was a bargain at $550.- saronian

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
I was backer #102 for Pono's Kickstarter campaign, and was surprised when they decided to limit the "upgrades for life" policy. This was a major competitive advantage, without which the hardware needs to be very convincing. Still waiting for my black Pono Player to ship.- saronian

2% is 3000-4000 albums. Doesn't seem too bad for a start.- saronian

iPod 7G: 120gb only
Maybe, but with NAND memory prices dropping 20% per month and production capacity increasing dramatically, the demand may accelerate the cost/capacity ratio faster than we think. It is nice to see the Apple store with refurbished Classic 160's at $279. Very tempting.- saronian

iPod 7G: 120gb only
Apple may have noticed how overproduced flash memory has become this year, and is anticipating affordable modules above 64GB in the next 6 months. In 12-18 months we'll see Apple drop disk based iPods and begin offering flash based version beyond 160GB. Once consumers adjust to paying $250...- saronian

iPod Classic!
Cirrus Logic’s audio codec has been designed into the Apple iPod Classic, replacing a part from Wolfson Microelectronics, according to Roth Capital’s Jay Srivatsa. Srivatsa wrote today that he found the Cirrus chip in the Classic through “tearing down” one of the new music players.- saronian

iPhone as a source = it sounds like @$$
Well I tried the iPhone Dock and there is no volume control. None of the iPhone controls have an effect on the line out. Additionally the sound is noticeably better than the line out from my 5G iPod. 5G to Hornet using SIK adapter sounds good. iPhone to Hornet using Dock's line out has...- saronian

iPhone as a source = it sounds like @$$
Thanks for the reminder, I haven't even touched the dock yet. You're right the recent iPods also have attenuation on the line out. Full volume is supposed to be equivalent of line out. I'll test it and see what it sounds like.- saronian
