Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements

The New Fantasia are not for you if you believe they are not, but they are perfectly serviceable for those who just need a cheap but decent, transparent cable.

Focal Stellia Review, Measurements, Interview - Head-Fi TV

The measurements of Oratory say otherwise. Takes quite a bit of eq to get them to Harmon target.

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

I'm interested in the recommendations too as I'm looking for a bass heavy closed can under $500 that has good clarity and EQs well.

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Neither do the 770 80 ohm. I do disagree with the bass being slow...these have epic bass that, to my ear, was very fast if not a bit overdone. Again, a little eq and it does help.

    Focal Elear - Impressions Thread

Just got my new Elear from FedEx today...so far I am very impressed. They were factory refurbished and they looked brand new. Sound. I haven't had the time I need to have any opinion other than a first impression, but WOW. They are very dynamic and clean sounding. These are a steal at $400...

    Focal Elear - Impressions Thread

Supposed to be delivered Sunday. I am very anxious to hear them. I have tried to keep tempered expectations, the DT1770 that I just returned were exceptional except for the sibilance...I wanted to love them. Alas I am too treble sensitive.

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

I can't find any specifics about the bass versus the DT770 Pros. I understand it is better bass but how is the relative level versus the 770s. I love the 770s but I do have to boost up the bass a little.

Schiit Modi /Magni and the Digizoid Zo.

I have a pair of Hifiman HE-400s and I just ordered the Schiit Modi/Magni combo to power them.  I love what the Digizoid Zo (First release with fixed gain) does to the sound of the 400s, but am not sure the best place to put it in the source/amp chain. Any recommendations? I was thinking between...

    Sub-$100 Soundcard or USB DAC

From my experience listening to both amps...the E7 has a no hiss that I can hear with any of my phones while the E5 has a little...very slight.  Other than hiss I noticed very little if any difference.  I will say the E5 is built a bit cheaper, and I had to re-solder one of the volume micro...

    Amp for Etymotic ER4P

I can confirm that with the lowest impedance Ety HF5, the Fiio E7 does not hiss.

    Sub-$100 Soundcard or USB DAC

The E5 would fix this problem.  My triple.fis do not play well with the UCA202 because of the impedance output, but when I added the E5 in the line and measured the response, it was ruler flat. The UCA had a terrible frequency response with them.  The impedance swings with a dual ba would...

    Electri-Q (posihfopit) question

The interface is a bit quirky, but for the price (free) and functionality, I like it. It crashes a lot with Foobar too if I "play" with it too much.

    Sub-$100 Soundcard or USB DAC

If you do not need an integrated amp, the Behringer UCA202 is a great buy.  It does have a headphone out, but it doesn't like low impedence phones. Adding a Fiio E5 to that is a rather good entry level combo for under $50 from amazon.
