Question for those who made the quarter mod
If it sounds the same that's all that's important -- pick whichever is more comfortable/appealing in that case. When i QM, i use comfies regular but I like how the 414 pads sound reverse QM.- sandeepk

best cans for rock and metal and little rap ?
Grados are generally considered perfect for the rock genre; on the other hand comfort is definitely not one of their chief concerns. What price range are you considering?- sandeepk

Earbuds for under 40$
I'm a huge fan of MEElec's IEMs. They always provide a great sound/value proposition -- you might wanna look at the M31 for the kind of music you listen to.- sandeepk

Help me, help a friend.
I'll be honest -- there are people who regardless of what headphones they hear will still claim that Beats are better. Price tag and brand has a bigger effect on listening experience for some peopel than you'd expect. You should try to get him to listen to your M50s and explain to him the...- sandeepk

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
Wow all these stands are super impressive! I've been thinking of putting together an aluminum stand, but I've never worked with the material so I have no idea what tools I need for it. I can AutoCAD a design, but I'd rather stay away from CNC for cost reasons. Any know how easy it is to get...- sandeepk

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
Hopefully not too much of a threadjack but wondering if anyone knows of online stores selling NOS 19J6 tubes. Just started listening to my SSMH but I'm worried that the tubes are running on their last legs :(- sandeepk

Sennheiser HD600 Discontinued (?)
Whatever comes out, I hope they just don't have that weird texturing all over. That was the only thing stopping me from picking a pair of 600's up.- sandeepk

If you could only own *one* headphone, which GRADO model would it be ?
Not on the list but I'd somehow try to sneak my HF-2s to this island! If I had to pick among those, I'd have to take the Sr-225 or the Ms-Pro- sandeepk

Best Headphones around $100
My suggestion to you is to buy Sennheiser CX300. These are super cheap (awesome value) IEMs that are great for working out, and the best part is that if they are damaged when you are running, etc it didn't really cost that much to start so they are easy to replace. That should set you back like...- sandeepk

Newbie needs help with 1st setup!
You might want to consider the AKG K701 if you're truly interested in soundstage and detail. Unfortunately you will lose some bass (impact) which may be a deal breaker for you with metal, but for the almost every other genre they sound awesome.- sandeepk

Need some help for headphone, Newbie here
A couple things to consider: Are you looking for headphones because you are interested in the quality of sound they can provide or are you interested in headphones for their isolation (from the wife)? If it is the latter, you may want to consider IEMs as they will always do a better job of...- sandeepk
