Hey, so this is my LEGATO retuned. It's a semi-reversible mod that I basically destroyed the stock front filter, but you can adjust the bass level with some mesh filter now, not permanent thou so they have to be replaced from time to time. Also replaced the LPF of the 6mm DD. Results are...- saldsald

Yup Legato. You should have roughly 0.5mm of space between the capacitors and the back side of the faceplate, should be enough for some kind of vibration absorption stickers. I don't think you need to convert it to semi-open back, it is already an open-back. You can put filter papers to the 3...- saldsald

Never really liked the tuning and the rather poor resolution. So time to investigate what it is all about. (I didn't drop it to open it)- saldsald

DIY IEM/Headphone Cables
It's alright, not spectacular. In general I find Hakugei's wires/cables are more for that taste instead. It has a very correct stage and correct sound that won't mess up anything but I find it slightly lacking in the treble resolution since I think it is a bit on the thin side, it has less...- saldsald

Nope, but you can go to the home made IEM thread I guess. The best way to learn is still through experiments and mod some IEMs that are worth modding, test each driver systematically and separately and make sure your source, cable, tips are not the bottleneck. I am sure you will be surprised how...- saldsald

Hi, just want to share a discovery here but it may only be a discovery for a small group of people but not all: This is my heavily modded TRN BAX - New DD, retuned 29689 and EST drivers, so basically it's just the shell repurposed. Purple is BAX with the new DD. BAX with PWAudio 1960s clone...- saldsald

I can chime in a little. In general, SHC "Cinqbes" plugs have more mids and depth but the mids can be too much for some wires and you will need to experiment. In terms of resolution I don't think there is any noticeable difference between their brass versions and the SHC versions. 1) Bispa... -

This is the BQEYZ Dew. Look how industrialised the insulation was made. It's even elastic and should last forever even thou all the joints between the wires and the plugs were cold joints - no desoldering was required to detach the wire from the plug. Sound-wise it's ok, got a big stage but the... -

Try this with the Code 24: It really brings out the best texture of both the bassline and the sax. Really detailed, dynamic and rhythmic also.- saldsald
