ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

OK, another music recommendation and I'd especially like to hear from the suede faction on how this one sounds. :) Nickel Creek - Rest of My Life. This is not a bass powerhouse of a song, and instead really showcases the imaging and stage of the Atriums. I've had actual difficulty listening to...

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Friday music recommendation to showcase the Atrium Closed - Wederkeer by Heidevolk. The Atrium Closed adds a weight to the music that is just satisfying to the ear. You could call it a bass shelf, but it's more than that. Male vocals are on display here and in some songs might sound a little...

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Another music recommendation for a dreary Tuesday morning. When I last posted I mentioned how the AC (cherry wood) made the bass an "equal partner" in the last song. What I meant was it's resolving enough with enough quality across the whole spectrum that the bass for me doesn't overwhelm the...

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Quick music recommendation for a Friday night is the Fleetwood Mac - Dreams cover by Scary Pockets. I thought I loved this rendition on my cherry Atticus, and wow - the Atrium Closed really brings it to another level by making the bass guitar an equal member of the band where you can make out...

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

OK. Only on day 2 here, but this is everything I hoped it would be and then some (coming from a cherry Atticus owner). Monstrous bass. Interesting soundstage. Shockingly much lighter than the Atticus? Like, noticeably so? To those still waiting - it will be worth it!

Nice! What order # were you and what version did you get?

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Can I divert the thread for a moment to point out how we've had nearly 100 people reading and watching this thread all day? For a headphone release? :) I forget if it was Tyler Eclectic, or Metal571, or Zach or Bevin who once said "ZMF people are like Jeep people, it's such a positive community...

ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Cherry wood secondhand Atticus owner reporting for Atrium Closed duty! The aged cherry looks amazing. A buddy and I raced to the checkout page and we'll do some olive wood vs cherry comparisons as soon as we can!

    Headphone Savior Case

Seconding @elira's comments, I should have read more closely before buying --- the ZMF Atticus does not fit well even with all dividers (middle and bottom) taken out. The headband pops out of the top and it's a slight stretch to zip it all in, which probably makes the top mesh compartment...

    Headphone Savior Case

@DekoniAudio, can the ifi iDSD Micro Black Label fit in the outer pouches? Or would you have to try to use the second divider to hide it in the main compartment?

The ZMF Co-Pilot and Lektrik S

Has anyone tried out the vegan suede option yet? I'm thinking of putting the co-pilot on my Argon Mk2s...

    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

@Audeze, I'm sure there's a dedicated Penrose thread now, but for those of us with the Mobius - will we be able to buy the Penrose mic separately and use it with our older model, assuming it's (edit: the mic is) an improved version?

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Gents, greatly appreciate the discussion (and the Vesper Audio link!). Didn't know about them! I've been bandying about the idea of the E-MU Teaks for a while now, but a post on the E-MU thread indicates that the Atticus might best it for overall bass. I already have the wooden Argon T60, which...

I suspect you could adjust the balance with HeSuVi, or if not, you definitely can do so within Windows itself: https://sodeve.net/2015/09/how-to-adjust-audio-balance-left-right-in-windows-10/

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

Greatly appreciate the contrast! I'm strongly pondering a move from my beloved X2s and Argons to an E-MU Teak, or Atticus, or Eikon. Looking for more of that bassy, musical, dynamic fun. I have to admit, even after years of progressing through the hobby and lurking forums I still feel like I...
