I'm not sure if there's an audiophile grade cable for these sort of connections (4.4mm to XLR ; USB Type C to Type B). My USB Type A to Type B cable that's currently connecting my laptop to the DAC costs about $600.

I only play digital FLAC files these days, no CDs although I still keep them. The CD player was retired several years ago and it's currently on the display rack.

Will look at your post later. Currently there isn't any "problem" with the bass as I find the 3dB and 6dB bass boost settings to be good listen. The standard setting just sounds a little flat due to the subdued bass.
