Well, I want to update what I finally decided to do. I sent the z2 back and bought a J3 on ebay.  Fantastic sound from J3.  Vocals are clear.  The stock player doesn't have as versatile equalizer as the Poweramp or Neutron player, but it is quite capable with many settings...

UPDATE:  The 64 Gb card is not recognized on a mac.  I have Parallels (windows application) on the mac and the external drive is recognized using it.  

I inserted a 64 Gb micro SDXC UHS-1 card into my z2 and formatted to FAT 32, but when I connected it to my mac, it says disc not readable by this computer.  When I open z2 folder there is no sub-folder for the card.  Can someone tell me what is the problem? Thanks.
