on pc you need to go into audio device properties and change your default device to usb audio dac and that should bypass your onboard soundcard.

i was gonna say go to your device manager and update your drivers or look for yellow question marks but since your device manager is empty......I'm guessing you rebooted? Windows xp?

have you updated anything or installed any new hardware or software lately? it may be a driver issue.
