I'm still kind of confused on the hybrid volume control design:  Is there a potentiometer involved?  When is the volume controlled in the digital vs. analog domain?

Well I did some reading in the Mad Lust Envy gaming thread and decided to order the Mediabridge cable from Amazon.  I preferred the looks/specs of the Fisio S-Flex cables (on Amazon UK), but it didn't look like shipment to the US was possible.

I'd like to upgrade the cable on my X1's - the V-Moda Audio Only cable that appears to be the standard replacement for the X1 is too short for my needs.  Can anyone recommend another high quality-for-the-buck cable in the 8-10 ft. range?  Budget is $50 max.  Prefer 1/8in / 3.5mm plug.

The Ultrasone Signature Pro is on the list in the original post, but was never mentioned again (unless I missed it).  I'm wondering why that is.

Dang dude - you had me excited there for a second!  I have some 7520's en route, and I'm sending my MA900's back (they have a defect in the headband).  I'm hoping the 7520's meet all my needs for a home headphone, but I've been reading about lack of soundstage.   I may have to order another...

I don't know if they're "the best," but the B&O H6 seems to be one of the better options available.  Well made, excellent comfort, with an open sound that belies their closed design.  I can't detect any particular emphasis or coloration of any part of the spectrum (but I'm no expert, either)...

  Yes B&O skimped on the accessories.  The packaging box is nice though!     Does the KEF M500 have a 4-pole, 3.5mm jack as well?  If so I'd be curious as to what replacement cable people are using.   The one I purchased is coming from China so it might take a while.  I'm not a good judge...

So I figured out that these are 4-pole plugs.  I just purchased a cheap ($5) 4-pole, 3.5mm aux cable off of ebay to hopefully get me by until I can figure out a better quality option.

I just picked up a pair of these, and I've been quite impressed so far.  The H6 will primarily be a home headphone for me, and as such I'd like to get a longer cable.  The phone plugs on the supplied cable have triple grooves rather than the standard two grooves for a stereo jack.  Are there...
