CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
My pair was ordered quite early on and before the big hype, so most likely Beryllium? I hope it is anyway, because if they break and I have to order them again, I want to have the same sound. Don't know what Crinacle got either, but his graph seems to match what I'm hearing.- RicHSAD

The BL01's are definitely excellent. I've been ABC'ing them with the YBF and the Black Bat and it's hard to say which I prefer. The 01's actually graph a lot like the YBF's and the difference's I am seeing on the graphs appears to match what I'm hearing as well. The 01 have a bit more bass...- RicHSAD

I don't really believe in burn-in, but I'll definitely be listening to them more. I switched up them up to "bass mode" by reversing the little screws and like them a little more that way. I think the increased bass helps balance out the mids to some extend, but in the end the treble is still...- RicHSAD

For 22.99$, the BL01 are definitely incredible. Definitely a much more natural sounding tuning than the Tape Pro. I personally don't mind the short stems as I prefer a shallow fit with large tips anyway. I just wish the stems were larger though as it limits my choice of tips, especially the wide...- RicHSAD

Got my Tape Pro yesterday (and the BLON01) and to be honest guys so far I am not particularly impressed. Bass is on point but the mids seem shouty to me and the treble just lacks energy/sparkle or the details just get lost behind the aggressive mids. I'm just not hearing that amazing detail...- RicHSAD

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread
Graph looks good to me. My main issue with the 03's is the bass which just a tad too much and boomy at times. Looks like they have addressed that issue so I expect a good sounding IEM.- RicHSAD

I'm one of those who can actually get a good comfortable fit with the BL-03, but the YBF still fit me better. Most people that I've seen comparing them seem to say the same. Now I have not tried a hundred IEMs but so far they are definitely my most comfortable pair.- RicHSAD

I can sleep well on my side with the Urbanfun YBF-ISS014 and they're only $58.65 on their official Aliexpress store right now. They sit pretty much flush with the ears so they don't dig into your ear and mess up the sound when you lay down on your side. There's still reports of some QC issues...- RicHSAD

One thing I find really influences the soundstage and imaging is the eartips you are using. Narrow and wide bore eartips don't present the sound the same way for example.- RicHSAD

All fair points, but when per your own ranking they compete with IEMs costing 2-3 times as much (despite the price increase), I'm willing to cut them some slack. I'll pay $70 (which is still very cheap let's be real here) and risk QC issue if that could save me $200 over a competing product...- RicHSAD

The QC issue is definitely a concern but it's still the exception rather than the norm. I wouldn't let that stop me from getting a great IEM, especially if you can get them from somewhere that will take care of you in case of issues. As for the whole beryllium vs noble metal version thing, I...- RicHSAD

I agree that a V-shape is good for rock and metal. For me it's all about making the drum sound good so you need enough bass to get a nice slam out of the kick drum and enough treble to get those sparkly cymbals. They're a bit over your budget sadly, but I would recommend the Urbanfun YBF-ISS014...- RicHSAD
