Home stereo amplifier vs headphone amplifier

Do dedicates headphone amplifiers provide any considerable befits as compared to just sticking your headphones in the stereo amplifier jack. When using headphones what's the difference in using a headphone amp compared to a stereo amp? Thanks

    [Impression] JDS Labs C421 (OPA2227 vs. AD8620) featuring cmoyBB, O2, T5 and UHA-4.

Thanks that was really helpful i guess its similar to marketing peak watts to RMS watts. So what exactly do you look out in an amplifier to pair it with a headphone which is meaningful, guessing it would be the power output listed. Or would it just be the matter of trying it out and hearing what...

What happens when lets say you have an amp which has a frequency response of 20-20kHz jds c4and headphones are of different responses like 14-29kHz. gradops500 Would that amp not be suitable for the headphones since its only giving 20-20 range and headphones not driving those higher frequencies...

    Upgrading from Grado SR125i

Never Used any AMP Before so Please Help me out .....

Yeah I'm using the fiio line out on the I pad, it really does make a difference. How would you get a line out on devices which just have a headphone jack output like android phones ? Would using a double jack still be using the internal amp for those devices ?

Never Used any AMP Before so Please Help me out .....

Just got a used c421 from here for a first amp it's really good. Im using it with the grados however with something more power demanding i think this amp will do justice. there is no hiss at all. I guess the layout could have been different where the volume knowb is in the way with the headphone...

    Quality EQ apps for ipod/iphone/ipad

Whats a POS. so what would you use for equalising headphones. would that be just using the settings from a dedicated amp instead of tweaking softwares and setting everything to flat?

    Quality EQ apps for ipod/iphone/ipad

Equalizer app is really good. Ive used it on the i pad, really handy once you get to work around on how to use the curves. It can be tricky at times. the gain adjustment is good. user interface is similar to the i pod one you get to search and filter all songs. the only downside would be is that...

Reel to Reel, who uses one?

Equipped with a good recording mic, reel to reel can be real fun. I don't think it would be used for editing or so forth however having an antique and recording and playing instrumentals is really a pleasure. Have heard and recorded from Revox B77 and Akai gx747 dbx and they're just awesome. To...
