bass of the AH-D7000
the bass on the D7000 is only there if its on the recording, however it seems the upper mids are slightly recessed. however when the bass is there, its like "did they master it with so much bass" i'm also hearing the deficiency of the sony amp I drive them through at the moment, also they havn't...- reptillian

bass of the AH-D7000
never heard anything like it, with drum and bass its like being at a club, which i havn't been lately. i keep checking to see if there is someone coming in the room. the cans are neutral, and the bass seems like it swamps and overrides the midrange, however it dosn't. the midrange is pretty...- reptillian

XCAN v8P passthrough
If the built in DAC in this headphone amp is crappy, can I take the output from an MF VDAC and put it through the amp?- reptillian

amps for DX1000 D7000
I plan to get a Musical Fidelity VDAC. I read the DAC on the XCAN v8P is not good. True or not? Can you chain it with the VDAC, as a pass through? Source => VDAC => XCAN v8P or Source => VDAC => Graham Slee Solo.- reptillian

Hawat i will use them on the underground/subway that is it. the twist resistant cable attracted me also. i am non plussed about the shiny finish, but just care about the sound really.- reptillian

Denon AH-D7000
I have bought the D7000. Do the earcups look like a plastic finish? If so this is better as they look like a cheaper product and less likely to be swiped. I'm not concerened about dings and scatches and will not baby them- reptillian

JVC HA-DX1000 or Denon AH-D7000
it's looking like the DX1000 as I do need reasonable isolation from outside. I do not want to be engaged with my music all the time, I like a relaxing listen sometimes. are the DX1000 good in this regard? Though they are coloured, the detail will still be there. Alot to like. Amplifiers I am...- reptillian

JVC HA-DX1000 or Denon AH-D7000
Which one do you think I should get? I listen to music such as rock, pop, electronic, drum and bass. I like the live look of the HA-DX1000. Not sure on the cups of the D7000, if they pick up dings and scratches from normal use, as they are gloss. Can the DX-1000 be used on all types of music...- reptillian

JVC DX1000 vs. Denon D7000: a mini-review
i guess i won't get to listen A-B to the DX1000 and D7000. i might end up getting both eventually. is the AH-D7000 bright with solid state equipment of correct power, or not?- reptillian
