Awesome or Gimmick ? Sonys MDR-1ADAC
Turning off? You are talking about the analog jack under the "Input" door on the cans? That should work as a normal non powered headphone jack. Try turning off the headphone amp/dac and use the jack under the "Input" door.- redshifter

Sony MDR 1ADAC headphones need new pads [HELP]
My beloved MDR 1ADAC's band and earcup pads are starting to disintegrate. Pics: https://ibb.co/T1JGM5Z https://ibb.co/mqsfjR2 I first noticed on Monday at work I was getting black flakes in my hair, and I am worried about these flakes getting into the driver. I went to the Sony site to see if I...- redshifter

Earbuds Round-Up
Stereo recording get out of phase fast if you reverse the channels which can lower the bass. On further listening I've noticed a little sibilance on more complex music, like on Coldplay's Rush of Blood to the Head track, but nothing too bad; hopefully that will even out as they burn in. Simpler...- redshifter

Earbuds Round-Up
Just got the Ksearphone Bell-LB from Amazon. I like them, nice clarity and with the the full foam (not the donut version) they have nice bass too, of course not very deep. The fit is perfect for my ears, and the silver cable is cool. Wish they included a portable case though. No left and right...- redshifter

USB cable with low microphics and anti-static properties for USB headphones (Sony MDR 1ADAC)
USB driven headphones seem to be the next big thing with phone manufacturers dropping 3.5mm headphone jacks. I have the Sony MDR 1ADAC which uses a USB cable (along with the traditional analog cable), but the drawbacks are USB cables tend to be stiff and there can be a lot of microphonic...- redshifter

Fiio X3 2nd Gen with Sony MDR 1ADAC headphones how to get digital USB out
Thanks again, I looked into it and I prefer not to use Apple (I dislike iTunes), and the suggested Walkmans were the high end stuff for over $300 nor do I need a Sony tablet (I have an iPad Air). I looked into perhaps some kind of SPDIF to USB dongle but I did not find anything. I am...- redshifter

Fiio X3 2nd Gen with Sony MDR 1ADAC headphones how to get digital USB out
I want to use my Sony MDR 1ADAC with my Fiio X3 2nd Gen player, but when I connect the Sony USB cable to the Fiio, I get no sound. Is there a way to make the Fiio X3 output a digital signal through the USB port? If not, does anyone know which non Apple MP3 players will work with the MDR 1ADAC...- redshifter

New case for old META42 amp?
I have a META42 amp that was built with an area for 9v batteries, but since getting the SR71 amp I never use the batteries for the META anymore. So now I want to get a new case for the META amp, so it will be smaller and look classier in my office. Would it be difficult to re-wire for walwart...- redshifter
