Burson Conductor 3 Performance & Conductor 3X Performance

    It's about the same menu.

New, Burson Conductor 3 Reference: Dual 9038 DAC, 7.5Wpc Head Amp, Preamp, Changeable Opamps

Due to its very low internal impedance, its high amount of power but also due its adjustable gain it will drive any can you want. The days when the output stage of a headamp was influenced by the impedance of the cans used or by the inductance of the longer cables are gone.

    Mini-PC setup?

I do like your setup and I was thinking to do a similar setup myself too, but running RPi on batteries will not improve sound quality! RPi is powered via 5V source, so you're probably using one single 18650 3.6...4.2V battery with a boost converter that regenerates a higher voltage (+5V) to...

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)

I thought LME49720 were the originals for LPF, also the NE5532 from I/V look odd. However, swap the 6 opamps with 4 x NE5532 + 2 x 49720 bought from a credible source (Digikey, TME etc.)

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)

Wondering what opamps are inside. If different than the original NE5532/LME4562 then try swapping them with originals.

New, Burson Conductor 3 Reference: Dual 9038 DAC, 7.5Wpc Head Amp, Preamp, Changeable Opamps

Me here, mate. I'll have one soon and have it measured on my oscilloscope, but I am sure it will have an even lower AC ripple & noise than the original PSU from Conductor. Having a second PSU, at least as a backup, is always a good thing, especially that the Supercharger is quite...

New, Burson Conductor 3 Reference: Dual 9038 DAC, 7.5Wpc Head Amp, Preamp, Changeable Opamps

    1. No. At least no if your SMPS PSU is a good one. Before I purchase a desktop PSU I always look for tests and measurements first, so I suggest you do the same. Besides output voltage and current the ripple and noise is an important decision factor too. 2. No, at least not under normal domestic...

New, Burson Conductor 3 Reference: Dual 9038 DAC, 7.5Wpc Head Amp, Preamp, Changeable Opamps

Strongly not recommended! I've measured the AC ripple & noise of the original PSU from C3X and C3 and it was only few mV RMS. I strongly doubt that your new PSU would be any better, especially that adding the 3rd ping (Earth/GND) is not helpful in this case. You will also loose the warranty too...

    Topping A90

Find proper measurements for your headphones and apply correct EQ for them. Also, there are online audio tests (or visit a Dr. to do a proper audiometry) that will tell you how your ear linearity goes. Without EQ there's no way to get the proper sound out of your headphones, due to frequency...

    Topping A90

I really think is the headphones/ears problem here. Find/Borrow another DAC/headamp pair from a friend (or buy from an online retailer and return if not OK) and give it a try in comparing the sound flavour between the two pairs.

    Topping A90

Both DACs (https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/smsl-su-9-balanced-dac-review.16150/ vs. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/gustard-x16-balanced-mqa-dac-review.17419/) are measuring really good and both are on the same price range, so you should grab...

    New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+

These headphones are lacking mid-trebles, where the clarity goes: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/1-4/graph#691/3992. A bit of EQ might help, but will not make a big difference with a pair of headphones that simply don't reproduce these freqs.

    Topping A90

Did same test now to a friend: Roon > D90 > A90 (RCA) > Fezz Audio Titania > Piega Premium 3.2; no matter A90's gain used the noise was non-existent. Output volume to the amplifier was pretty high, definitelly >90 dB. I guess your setup has a flaw, or perhaps your A90.

New, Fully Balanced Burson Conductor 3X: Dual ESS9038, 7.5wpc XLR, 3.75wpc SE Headamp, Changeable Opamps

Just get V+ and GND from one XLR plug and connect it to the RCA of the sub. Find someone that has a good understanding on how to wire balanced and unbalanced connections (without shorting V- to GND!!!) and can also dissassemble a XLR plug and wire your sub cable. Otherwise call Thomman and let...

New, Fully Balanced Burson Conductor 3X: Dual ESS9038, 7.5wpc XLR, 3.75wpc SE Headamp, Changeable Opamps

If it's a powered sub then you should be able to connect it to only one channel of the C3X.
