Oh. My. God. (Got my HD 650s)

@ jasonb, are you saying that the 600's are brighter?? How's the bass compared to the 650's?? That's kinda hopefull, because i can get them for a great price.Muffled, kinda like not up front in your face, but again that's probably something i'm not used to. Quote: boxy=muffled=congested   undetailed=lack of high frequency detail, i'm sure others i'm not alone thinking that.   Look, i don't claim to be a guru audiophile, but i was expecting alot more from these headphones. When i demoed them before buying, i didn't notice these...

Just got my senn hd 650's. I'm disappointed. They are dark, boxy and totally undetailed. Can't believe all the hype about them.

    SENNHEISER HD650- Brighter replacement cable

Well thanx for the reply, that cambridge amp looks pretty, but it's kinda pricey for me. I heard the zu cable is good, gonna look into that. For now i'm just using a bit of eq'ing to energize the top end, works fairly well. I so wish they were a bit brighter however.

    SENNHEISER HD650- Brighter replacement cable

Hi all,   I recently purchased the senn hd 650's and i've been rather  pleased with them, but i do find them a little dark. I had heard about the sennheiser veil, but now i kinda understand what people were talking about. I just modded them with the defoaming procedure and it somewhat...

    Burn in.

Hi all,   Does anyone have experience with the shure 840's and burn in. Does it help??  Also, if burn in actually does work in changing the sound, how does it affect the high frequencies? more or less "sparkly"?!!  I ask because I feel the 840's lack a bit of sparkle and wondered if maybe...
