So I came across the mod (link to thread) that Craigbru did on his DT-770 to convert it into a "headset" by adding a boom mic. I picked up a pair of Darthbeyers just for this purpose. The question I have is about the boom microphones. Has anyone tried theBoom mic? Would this be overkill...

I'm starting to like Ubuntu a lot more. Maybe I'll ask Jude to change my name on the forums. ^_^

For acoustics, I would look into something along the lines of a Martin or Taylor. I do like the Ibanez and am a proud owner of a Jem 7VWH as well as a JS100 however I'm not a big fan of their acoustic guitars. After you learn a few songs and have gotten used to the sound of your guitar...
