You might be right. I thought I saw some downsampling before but it might've just been CD-quality audio. Now, I'm playing back at hi-res file over TIDAL in Android mode with the PEQ enabled and the DAC is showing a hi-res signal. Maybe it tops out at 96kHz or I'm bad at counting haha ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The PEQ app has to downsample hi-res to redbook audio when in Android mode. When in FiiO player mode, that app can output a PEQ hi-res signal.

Interesting...I would like to know more about how the sound evolved for the better. Yeah, this is looking to be an interesting competitor to Eversolo A6, maybe. At least to me, since I don't necessarily want an onboard DAC for my streamer. Now we need a version in black!

You’ll need to buy a decent pair of XLR interconnect cables to feed the analog signal to the amp (if you don’t have them already). And an XLR adapter or cable for the S2 (if you’re not using one already). I am using WBC cables as I’m more interested in spending my budget on upgrading components...

It's solid--state, but the Mjolnir 3 is an excellent amp to drive the S2. Not sure if there's a cheaper amp to "max out" the S2. Frankly, not sure if the Mjolnir gets every last drop of goodness from the S2, but the pairing just works.

I have to co-sign the idea that the app should ignore "The" in artist names when sorting by alphabet. It's one of those quirks that felt acceptable from overseas OEMs a few years ago, but is more irritating since many music apps for mobile devices have solved this problem

I’ve been enjoying the MM-100 more now that I have a dedicated PEQ in my chain, and I have to say that while the equalization helps with making this studio headphone more correctly neutral, (as opposed to “neutralish”) the Mjolnir really makes the MM-100 more pleasurable to listen to.
