I've actually posted about moving up to the bowls but feedback on that was that they Were Not Meant For the RS-1s and so things would get worse rather than better. Of course I don't know firsthand.

You would be much better off finding a set of headphones you are comfortable with, and mounting the existing microphone to them, but even that might be a bit of a kludge. Different drivers have different types of enclosures for a reason.
