I can blast my old Pro 4AAs and they don't bug anyone. The problem is they require serious power to sound good. Even my Fiio isn't up to the task. I can't take my old JVC stereo to work, plus, they're fun and nostalgic, but not that great sounding. Yeah, I like my ER-4s, but they're no good...

I have re-issue (not original, they were replaced) Koss Pro 4AAs.  Regarding comments about lack of bass, there's a *big* caveat. These are 250 Ohm headphones with huge drivers by today's standards. My Fiio A3 does "ok" with them, but they're still kind of mediocre even on most average home...

Out of curiosity, what does burning in the cables do? What physical property of the cables changes after say, 100 hrs. of 1V, 20mw signal? The balanced armatures themselves are said not to require any break-in. Phreon
