Pictures Of Your High End System (Please see the first pages for examples of what should be posted here)

I read a great tip once about setting toe-in: imagine a virtual line going straight out from the front of your speakers, then aim the speakers so those lines meet at the back wall directly behind your listening position.  I've had good results setting up like this.   Quote:

Suggestions on a DAC comparable to Bifrost

Quote: I just added in the part about 24/176 because there was discussion above regarding that format.  I'm using it at 24/96 via the USB connection and couldn't be happier :D.

Suggestions on a DAC comparable to Bifrost

I haven't heard the Bifrost but I just recently got a Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11 for $325 and I'm liking it quite a lot!!  The USB interface is limited to 24/96 but the S/PDIF connections go up to 29/192.  Don't know how it handles 24/176.   Another option.

Reply to review by 'philspins' on item 'Sennheiser HD 202 Headphones'

I got them about 2 years ago, and stuff retails for more in Canada. I'm not ranting about the purchase just laying down my opinion on these phones... I don't like them.

Review by 'philspins' on item 'Sennheiser HD 202 Headphones'

I cannot recommend these headphones.  When shopping for some replacement phones a couple years ago, I had the name Sennheiser on the mind.  I had read lots of great things about the company and their headphones.  So when I went to Future Shop to look for a replacement, I saw the HD-202s priced...

Review by 'philspins' on item 'Yamaha PF-1000/800 Turntable'

I bought this table about two years ago and I pretty much have nothing but good things to say about it.  It sounds *excellent*.  The unique proprietary twin-pipe tonearm provides for excellent channel separation which results in a huge, wide soundstage.  The suspension of the table provides...

    Yamaha PF-1000/800 Turntable

The PF-1000 and PF-800 are sub-platter belt-driven and 3-point feather suspended chassis on inverted springs with rubber surrounds. The left and right cartridge wires are separated in the techno-looking but dynamically balanced tonearm for better separation. The resin-cast FG motor supports a...

    Hello Head-Fi

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself.  I've known about this forum for years but never really had a big interest in headphone listening until recently, so I decided to join.   My name's Phil, I live in southwestern Ontario, and I like to spin vinyl!  Digital's OK too but I've got a...
