This post is confusing as hell. I suggest naming the HD800S, "HD800 V2" or mkii or whatever, in this thread from now on , to avoid confusion between the old HD800 and new HD800 in future posts.

How many break in hours are needed?

If you think about it, the HD800S=T1 2nd gen. Slight improvement, but Senn increased the price and Beyer didn't. On the Bright side the old HD800 price dropped. Honestly i think it would have been fair to price it the same as the old version just like what happened with T1.

I understand that the highs are different(less bright overall?) , but How is the treble different from HD800?can anyone give an example that will make it easier to understand? Thanks.

Well the HD800 is 1180$ on Amazon And if the HD800S is 1800, so it's 50% more, so not really a small amount.

To me the K1000 and the HD800 are the best headphones i have ever heard i had the K701 and it's not even close! HD800=Bugatti Veyron the K701- Hyundai  car
