I  have now gotten my dirty little hands on the O2+odac and are extreamly happy with how my DT990s perform now, contra how they were with the old Astro Mixamp using optical from my pc. I am not surprised it performs better though. There is more sound at equal noise levels, I hear its more power...

As a rule of PC thumb, get the newest. Howeve it is simply a uninstall / reinstall and you should be good to go if something strange happens with one of the other. Can't go wrong here

Quick update, ended up with the Objective 2 + ODAC combo, made in the EU. With the plugs in the back, just the connections I need and made in the EU. Good reports of how the DT990s sound with it.
