Yea that and the general "Montblanc doesnt make headphones" attitude. I kinda understand both points.. I heard about the release of these but never looked into them for both reasons. The cost is kinda in-line with B&O or M&D but the reputation and marketing for audio just isnt there for Montblanc.

Hmm sounds good. I'm looking forward to the bass and the comfort the most. Ordered my pair, paid $400 after tax (15% off from Hodinkee + 150 off 500 from Amex offer). Should get it this week.

I just wish there were more reviews on this headphone. All of the ones I've found so far read more like an advertisement paid for by marketing, except for the very critical review by crinacle on youtube. Although what he hates, may be exactly what I like, which is more emphasis on the bass.

Bumping this since I just bought a pair. Definitely like em a lot straight out of the box. Sound signature is really similar to my Fostex TH-X00, just slightly less open and clear (to be expected since these are fully closed). I use my TH-X00s at work and the TH-600 at home and to be honest...

Didn't realize they actually cost more and are rarer, I thought these were all popping up on massdrop on a cycle (one after the other) lol.   I'd be willing to put in some more cash. Just too lazy to make a WTT right now, need to bring a camera to work since my TH-X00 are my work headphones.

I might make a formal WTT thread for this later, but just kinda curious for now. Would anyone wanna trade their Ebony or Purpleheart TH-X00 for my Mahogany one? Purely for aesthetic reasons.
