Review by 'palindrom' on item 'AKG K 319 In-Ear Bud Headphone - Dark Charcoal'
I just bought them as a gift to someone I like very much. After few hours of burn-in I tried them. They seem to be made for use with foam on them. It makes sound much more balanced and warmer. It's hard to say after 5 hrs of warm-up if there's really not enough low tones. They are there, but...- palindrom

Review by 'palindrom' on item 'Vedia SRS-300'
OK, I got those buds together with Vedia A10 player but manufacturer sells it for $7. For that price tag it's a real steal. Sound is warm but still natural. Very good bass, nice vocals, clear heights (but a bit behind low and mid), which makes them to the darker side. Excellent percussion and...- palindrom

Vedia SRS-300
Successor of great Vedia SRS-200 earbuds, which comes with Vedia media players but can also be bought as OEM from the manufacturer, below $10. According to company declaration, these buds are meant to break stereotype of useless phones that manufacturers give away with their devices. -
Back for more! Thoughts on AKG K240S and Panasonic RP-HXT7
If I can drive 600 ohm K240 with "consumer grade hardware", You can drive low impedance Studio version with excellent results :)- palindrom

Roll Call for Team AKG
It's all a matter of preferences. I have 3m of cable on my K240 sextett and I find it too long. That's one reason why later versions have mini-XLR.- palindrom

AKG K240 Sextett--Grado'd AKG?
I don't have experience with that specific amp, but I'm designing solid state amp to drive AKG's. Knowing the impedance and desired maximal power you get minimal needed voltage. Fore instance, I assumed 200 mW to generate acoustic pressure within pain level. u²=PZ --> .2W · 600Ω ≈ 11V So...- palindrom

Quote: I don't know what was exact temperature, but below 100°C. Moisten, folded cloth and patience Quote: Thank you Actually I could buy pleathers for try as they're relatively cheap. Thanks for the hint! And now it's time to build custom SS amp and DAC for...- palindrom

AKG K240 Sextett--Grado'd AKG?
Quote: Well, it worked for me Maybe I'll show what kept me busy for last 3 hours. Starting point: Of course elastic bands were long dead. Cardan was loose (foam decomposed) and squeaky. The smell was awful. I really hate cigarette smoke. Maybe it doesn't...- palindrom

Recommend Headphones for Guitar Practice
Sennheisers 555 and Audio Technica M50 are both quite flat frequency response phones. HD25-1 II is also well corrected but with hights not so pronounced. The least harsh on high tones is AKG K240 MKII. Plus You get 5m spiral cord and 2 sets of earpads. For response characteristics, I'd go...- palindrom

AKG K240 or K240 MK II?
joelpearce, the list should be even longer. (600ohm) K240 Sextett cardan (Early / Mid / Mid_with_new_driver / Late production) (600ohm) K241 (== K240 for French market) (600ohm) K240 Monitor (600ohm) K240 DF (dif. field) Studio Monitor (55ohm) K240 Studio (55ohm) K240 MKII...- palindrom

Review by 'palindrom' on item 'AKG K240 'Sextett''
Those are AKG K-240 Sextett cardan from mid prod. I bought them on ebay for ridiculous price. If you want to go for Sextetts, keep in mind that elastic bands, inner sponge and ear pads are likely to be replaced. K-240's (MKII) are in production so it shouldn't be a problem though. As for me...- palindrom

That helped me out. Thank You! Interesting that some files are really clean and smooth meanwhile other with the same bitrate and depth are severely distorted. A lot of recompiling for me- palindrom
