Suggestions for next cans
I’d try the Sennheiser HD600/650/6XX series as a good but different companion to the AKG. Warmish, relaxed but high quality. The 6XX can be found cheap (well, because it was already cheap on sale) in the FS section.- paaj

Suggestions for next cans
What are you looking for relative to what you have? Closed/open, more detail or warmer etcetera? What is the budget?- paaj

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Maybe. From my limited impressions so far, a little warmer doesn’t hurt and I do need an affordable good sounding closed headphone in a few months time. I figured a DT1770 would be only a little more than I just paid so would be a good option after selling this T1. Actually, I was thinking about...- paaj

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Well, I really have very little play on the volume knob. Sadly no adapter for a direct connection to my phone or laptop. Wow, suggest a headphne three times more than an already expensive $500 one... I’m not likely to pay more than a thousand bucks for a headphone (anymore ), with the sole...- paaj

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
A little late to the game but I just got an early version T1 (<2000). They really are efficient, with Meridian Explorer and Graham Slee Solo there is pretty much no play on the volume control. 7 / 8 oclock is loud enough even in my workspace, an open office with 5 or 6 people. No isolation so a...- paaj

WEE - new product from Woo Audio
Which basically is sound advice for any amp/speaker/headphone combination. Most speakers (and your ears) can’t handle 150W+ either. Just like your normal speakers: you’ll be fine with some common sense.- paaj

Not sure if this was corrected: No it won’t. USB out is not a general digital signal that your receiver will understand.- paaj

Sennheiser HE60 / HEV70
I’m sure it was purely for soundquality reasons :p We sort-of tried getting real leather by a third party (also for HD) but that failed. Great, now I’m in the ‘regret I sold them’ mood...- paaj

Sennheiser HE60 / HEV70
The earpads are different from the Hd6xx series, different shape plastic to connect. And ofcourse pleather instead of velours so different isolations characteristics. Great set, don’t think I got to try them on my Stax amp at the time but sounded wonderful anyway. Nice to have something...- paaj

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Not that odd, you probably won’t actually use 100WPC anyway. I changed from a 100W to a 35W amp and it still goes louder than I’d like. I think I had a 15W-ish T-amp at some point that was loud too. At home 10 proper Watts might be plenty for most of us. Differences in gain (amount of...- paaj

Schiit LISST Impressions
Just curious, has anyone tried these in other amps? What could be a reason for it to not work? My integrated amp uses 6922eh as preamp valves and I'm looking at some different flavors to play with.- paaj

I'd say the playback device on the server should have not impact on the Link sound output, but you can try enabling the onboard audio in W10 (and maybe remove HiFace) and see if it changes? Troubleshooting step 1. Also, check if the sound output of the Link/Game is in PCM stereo, PCM signal...- paaj
