IEMs and Headphones (Portability, Value, and Quality)

Greetings,   I currently own a pair of HD650s combined with a Schiit Valhalla and Zero DAC for home use. I picked up a set of Bose IE2 that were on sale (50% off) about 2 years ago. I currently use them at work as well as for exercise. I never have any issues with comfort. They feel great and...

I'll have pics asap. I don't have a decent camera atm. Quote:

    Zero DAC/Schiit Valhalla/HD650 (A newbie's review)

I would've just waited to post, but I was so shocked over the shipping time of the DAC.

    Zero DAC/Schiit Valhalla/HD650 (A newbie's review)

I have recently ordered three items for my first audio setup: the Zero DAC/AMP, the Schiit Valhallla, and a pair of Sennheiser HD650s. I wanted to catalog my experience in receiving all these and give a review from a new listener's experience.   The Research:   Most of my research came...

DV 337 and the Schiit Valhalla

I have looked into the MKIII as well, but didn't know if it would be of lower quality when compared to the DV337.

DV 337 and the Schiit Valhalla

Greetings,   I recently ordered HD650s from Sennheiser and a Zero DAC. This is my first audio setup and am very confident in it based on reviews posted here. I recently listened to a friend's setup (Creative X-Fi -> DV337 -> HD650) and absolutely loved it. It was far better than any...

    Budget Build: HD650

Yeah I've been researching the Zero for a bit. I actually decided to pull the trigger on the Zero DAC today. Will I need any sort of sound card to go with it? I am under the assumption that the DAC will do the work. I will be going from the mobo->zero dac->hd650. I will probably snag a darkvoice...

    Budget Build: HD650

Yeah I realize that amping a bad source won't be the best route. Any tried and true DAC/AMP combos under or around $300 that fit the HD 650 decently?

    Budget Build: HD650

Greetings,   Note: My budget is $500-$600. I have extremely limited listening experience. My current setup is a pair of Logitech G35s. My primary use of this headset is Skype, WoW, metal music, electronic music, and some classical. I have already ordered the HD650s. I am confident in this...

    HD 800 & HD 650

I think I am going to grab the HD 650s and start with the ASUS Xonar Essence STX to drive them. I will eventually upgrade to a good DAC and amp. I don't really know if I will make audio a huge hobby so I can't really justify spending too much money on a pair of phones yet. Thank you everyone for...

    HD 800 & HD 650

Bilavideo, I find your input very interesting. There was a review on the HD800s that may not fully agree with your comment. One of the points of the reviews suggested that if you are not prepared to get a system to match the HD800s then don't bother. This came off as an experienced tone. I...

    HD 800 & HD 650

Greetings,   I have recently broken into the audiophile community and have been lurking for a while now. I have decided to purchase my first setup. I originally decided on the HD 650s from Sennheiser because of their great value. They seem like a great set of headphones for the price. I have...

    Purchasing HD650s + Goodies

The Nuforce Icon HDP seems like a great starting component. I could use it in place of an amp to start out with, then upgrade the amp from there. Thanks for all of the replies. I am going to continue to research before I make my final purchase decision.

    Purchasing HD650s + Goodies

Fantastic replies. I started to think about how bad the sound card idea would be. I am currently running 2 ATI 5870s in crossfire so the sound card doesn't really have any room. It may get very very hot if I cram it in between my GPUs. I did read a few reviews regarding the Asgard and the HD...

    Purchasing HD650s + Goodies

Thanks for the quick reply. I am still wondering if it would be better to get a sound card or a DAC? I could get something like the Creative X-Fi Titanium HD with replaceable op amps. This card seems to get very good reviews and has a decent price. I will look at some solid state DACs.
