Hi, I have a question. I strictly use the E17 on a computer via usb connection. My logic leads me to believe that the battery is never in use, but still the battery completely discharges every two week or so. I was wondering if this was normal? Anyone experiencing the same "problem"? Cheers!

Maybe the Sennheiser Amperior? The sound is very detailed although they are said to be a bit aggressive sounding (in opposition to warm sounding). The bass is punchy but not very prominent. They are now discontinued and so they sale for rather cheap,  for example at vminnovations they sale for...

  I was wondering about gain. If the sound level is fine when the volume is set at one third and at 0db gain is there a reason to set it at 6db gain and set the volume lower? I mean would it improve the sound?!

Woah picked up those last week-end. For headphones on the go i can't think of better deal. And there getting better day by day!

I've seen this mod before. Easiest would be with TRS plug but i suppose you could use something else.  I would recommend it if you ever take your grados out for portable use to prevent the cables above the Y from inevitably getting tangled up.   You can buy new cable for around $0.50/ft ~ $4...
