I'd be interested! :D I don't have an amazing setup.  I own a JVC DX-3 using a creative x-fi usb soundcard on laptop and a pair of Fischer Audio eternas v2. I mainly listen to pop, hip hop, folk, rock, alternative rock, a little bit of jazz and techno.

I doubt you will need an amp for these. About the volume thing, I actually have to limit the volume on my ipod nano to about half because i'm scared i'll accidentally turn it more than that.  I think they are pretty easy to drive and get really loud.
