yep it's pretty much between the Grado's, AKG 240's, and Senn 280's at this point. Probably gonna wait for a good deal to pop up, but I'm really leaning towards the Grados.- odonnemr

Grado Fan Club!
I'm on the market for a pair of sub-$100 headphones. The Grado SR-60's are really pulling me in from the reviews, but the only thing holding me back from buying them is that I read that they're uncomfortable and I like to listen to music for hours on end. What about the Grado SR-60's? From what I've read, they are the perfect electric guitar oriented rock headphone, i'm an axe slinger myself- odonnemr

I've heard to mix with both headphones and monitors... and I would think a quality pair of headphones would take you further than a crappy set of speakers. Depends on how crappy you mean, I guess. But I gotta say, this would be for about 5% mixing, 95% listening- odonnemr
