New Beyer DT1350
Quote: Funny, that's exactly how I feel about the HD-25s and the 1350s, for both the sound signature and 'rough treatment.' The Beyers are only for home listening and while I do prefer open headphones and would have liked to have bought something in the HE-XX line, I have too much...- oddsratio

Universals Modded with Recable or Removable Cables! ***Sony MH1 Recable added! (Fischer Audio DBA-02, Brainwavz B2, UM3X, Sleek Audio)
No clue. The plastic seems really tough to do with a simple sharp blade. It would be easier to mod the cable's connectors, but I haven't decided if I want to risk damaging that yet.- oddsratio

Universals Modded with Recable or Removable Cables! ***Sony MH1 Recable added! (Fischer Audio DBA-02, Brainwavz B2, UM3X, Sleek Audio)
I modified my B2s as well. Here's the photo from his website of my B2s: http://btg-audio.webs.com/photos/undefined/Brainwavz%20B2.jpg As far as sound quality goes-- they have not changed at all from when I sent them, which is excellent. I was a little skeptical at first that this...- oddsratio

New Beyer DT1350
Interesting; I really love the sound of the 1350, the only thing I wish for was a bigger soundstage. I have to adjust to its size every time I listen to it. It's in my at-home set right now, and I was hoping the 880s (250 ohm, I only have a pico amp) would be equivalent in resolution. I could...- oddsratio

Universals Modded with Recable or Removable Cables! ***Sony MH1 Recable added! (Fischer Audio DBA-02, Brainwavz B2, UM3X, Sleek Audio)
That is awesome. I have been searching everywhere for DBA sound that had removable cables. I was going to pick up a refurbished set of DBAs from gd-audiobase, so I might have two that I'd send his way if he'd be interested in taking my money. I only see details for paying for the cable itself...- oddsratio

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread
I've been thinking about ways to dye the whole cable black. I'm wondering if anyone's had any luck with doing this. I have some plastidip spray, but everything that I've used that on attracts a ton of dust and would be a real PITA to clean if it starts peeling, which it does do if you rub it too...- oddsratio

I picked up one of those from best buy from the hosa brand. 1/3 the cost of the grado adapter and it's working out pretty well.- oddsratio

iBasso D6 "Fer-de-Lance" USB DAC/Amp
It's weird, but this is one of the only sources on the web that gives somewhat adequate details about the D6. I'm close to picking one up, but I plan on using them with B2 iems and I'm wondering if the gain will be too high from the amp. I'm trying to eliminate hiss and white noise, so I'm...- oddsratio

On the positive side of things, does anyone listen to this with the dac output only? I think I actually find it more pleasing than the headphone out.- oddsratio

@C0rnholio: Are you getting the background buzz (BRRR) at 100% on the fiio dial, because I start to hear it at 50 w/iems. There are some channel balance issues (as expected with a pot, but not too noticeable) that go away once you get to 1 on the dial, so I try to keep it above that. Also, I do...- oddsratio

Quote: Can you post a little more info on this? I did that same thing as C0rnholio's post above, where I'm trying to see what they're capable of handling. I hear the BRRR on iems (I have CX200s and a151s) on the new unit still, but it's much worse when I have the output at 44khz than at...- oddsratio

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
I already bit the bullet on the CF route, but does anyone know if these will fit with a zif-50 pin adapter? I have a 20gb 4th gen, so I would have needed to buy a new backplate (for the 40gb), but I didn't know if it would be worth it unless the adapter would fit inside. They're normally...- oddsratio
