Sony XBA-300 Impressions & Discussion Thread
To be fair, I don't think these are meant to serve as an "upgrade" to the EX1000 or the A3 as both of those have very different sound signatures. The XBA-300 is likely to be something a little different to those mentioned above and if anything probably serve as successor to the XBA-3/30.- NoobAThome

Sony XBA-300 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Very true, I've found on most of the BA drivers I've heard, they dont have the rumble in the bass and the warmth texture in the vocals of the EX800. Though I do admit to slight better definition in the treble over the EX800. Looks like I'll wait a little further, currently weighting between...- NoobAThome

Sony XBA-300 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Solid collection, cheers for the photos, the XBA-300 looks even smaller than the EX800 so that's good. Very tempted by these, would you rate these being similar to the EX800 in terms of sound sig? Mainly because I'd like to get something a little different for the collection.- NoobAThome

Sony XBA-300 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Cheers for the reply, I find the noise from wind blowing across the EX800 pretty bad due to its large size so that's good to hear. But I wonder why they didn't go for an over ear style like the EX series, A3 or Z5, would have been much better for comfort and cable noise.- NoobAThome

Sony XBA-300 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Great impression everyone. How would everyone rate the wind and cable noise on the XBA-300? I have the EX-800ST which has quite dismal wind noise and the housing on these looks equally large.- NoobAThome

Neutral/detailed IEM 200-300 USD max (Detachable cable preferred)
Maybe take a look at the Audio Technica IM-02, also quite neutral and balanced.- NoobAThome

Neutral/detailed IEM 200-300 USD max (Detachable cable preferred)
The EX600 gets you about 80% of the EX1000 if I have to put a number on it but I havent heard it for a while so take it with a grain of salt. The 7550 or EX800ST for japanese domestic market version is essentially the same as the EX1000 but with a 3 dB reduction in the treble above 6 KHz (I...- NoobAThome

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
Hello everyone, I've heard that the MA900 has a similar signature the the Audio Technica R70x but has a wider sound stage. Just wondering if the treble is as detailed as the R70x?- NoobAThome

beyerdynamic T51p & T51i impressions thread
True the mid-bass is a little boosted and quite thick. But maybe I gave the impression that the T51 is bassy, sorry about that but it's really quite balanced and fun, just a warmer sound than the DT1350 (so personally I do not think it's worth changing the DT1350 for T51). It's one of my...- NoobAThome

beyerdynamic T51p & T51i impressions thread
I haven't heard the DT1350 for a while but have owned the T51 for a long time now and I prefer the T51 for portable use (due to my preference for warmer signatures). The overall signature is a bit more melo with more emphasis on the mid-bass and less treble with a bit more shimmer than the...- NoobAThome

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread
Really? I've heard the K712 is not on par with the MSR7 in terms of detail but still fairly good, but it's not as upper-mid and treble focused. I was considering the K612 as some said it has a bit more midrange and treble energy than the K712 as almost as good as the MSR7 in terms of detail.- NoobAThome
