Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

They are killer for live music. About 75% of what I listen to is Grateful Dead live stuff and like you said the bass, drums and everything comes through really nicely in a great like your there stage presentation.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

That is the same thing that I did. Started thinking "well they are decent planars that I can turn into awesome planars through mods" after going through every page of this thread. People saying there is a ringing, which I don't hear or any number of other problems. I got them and basically...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Hey just curious since you seem to love the 1060 as much as I do, what if any mods do you use? I don't use any but since getting them my other headphones(though not as high end as yours) have been just gathering dust. Thanks Nick

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I meant that I don't find them muddy also, clear separation and no muddiness imo. Sorry should have been more clear on what I meant.

Woah!? M1060 muddy? You must have a different pair then I got, mibe are easily as detailed as my Beyers.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I have been hearing they are q bit dark which really isn't my cup of tea. I like Beyerdynamic DT880 out of the old standards for reference. Also I would be worried they would be too much like the M1060. Sounds like Hifiman usually has more going on in the top end.

I would be interested in w M1060 comparison. It is my only planar but I love the sound and am thinking about my next step.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Ya, the M1060 is way better, that is the reason. Sort of kidding of course, we all have different ears.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I have said this in many threads because it is always something that bugs me about people taking headphone reviews to seriously. Only you have your ears so they may be a perfect match for you or just meh. Also they have a 30 day money back guarantee so there really isn't a risk in trying a...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Like what was said by above from everything I have heard and read the m1060 is way ahead of the m560 in sound quality, I have read through this whole thread with a few people comparing them. On the other hand it would seem the m560 are some of the best built headphones available at any price...

What's wrong with the FX Audio Dac X6? I use it in my garage when I am smoking cigars which I do daily and everything from the M1060 to the Beyerdynamic DT 880 sing on it. I don't think you can do any better for the price.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I agree with a lot of what you said. I mean some modding is fine but when you doing mods to the point you break a fantastic headphone with a 5 year warranty you have forgotten to just stop and listen to the music play. Had I listened to what people in this thread said I would have ordered new...

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

. I saw a lot of those reviews as well. It is important to note that most of the reviews are of the pre 2016 version. They basically made it a different headphone after that and I have seen a ton of praise with at least 2 different people saying they preferred it to their HD800... Why every...
