Cambridge meet impressions, 25 April 2015
A lovely day, met many facinating people during the day and in the evening. Well done to Mark and Andy, a great job. I hope people enjoyed the Woos, I will bring other stuff next time :) Things I missed were Oppo phones and HifiMan HD1000 (the new flagships). I would have loved to have...- Nic Rhodes

Feliks-Audio ELISE...(previously 6SN7 + 6AS7G/6080 prototype)
I don't have a Mk111 mordy so no, but do have a Mk9 and have tried them on that but also have 5+ other 6AS7G amps that I have tried these on so my view is quite a wide one (and it is what I like to do). I have not tried them on my 4SE as I prefer not to use separate PSUs (but can do). I quite...- Nic Rhodes

It would be nice to have a buying option with no supplied tubes also :) Many of the roller interested may have stacks already.- Nic Rhodes

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
I have a Fiio E12 and E12 DIY. They hardly get used (but are nice amps). Most of my phones are high impedance types so I favour amps like the LD 3 / 4. I bought a 4SE bought without any tubes so I can roll whatever I want (tubes are all cheap for these amps). It is s best with high impedance...- Nic Rhodes

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
KWTubes was selling a 75 for about $13, same for the 74 I think. I have bought from him in the past and had no issues. Cheap P and P also.- Nic Rhodes

Feliks-Audio ELISE...(previously 6SN7 + 6AS7G/6080 prototype)
I like the GB (Gold Brand) Sylvanias and they are still cheap and available. On par with the RCA Command and GE 5* 6080s. The more basic GE or RCAs I am less enthusiastic about but do rate Tung Sols / Chathams (however they are harder to find and more expensive nowdays). GEC and Mullards are...- Nic Rhodes

0.5w in HE6 has been a disaster in my experience, this headphone needs much more than that to sing correctly. The best I ever heard it was on the end of 200w Bryston monobocks!. With proper power (5w+, cheap Lyrs or more expensive other amps) then and only then do you see the quality of this...- Nic Rhodes
