Schiit Magni 3+ and Magni Heresy - Impressions Thread
Howdy friends, hope this is the right place to ask: I've never owned Schitt gear before, but they seem to hav a decent enough reputation. I'm eyeing the Modi/Magni Heresey combo to use with either HD6XX or Sundara's (settling on a pair, leaning towards HD6XX). My primary uses would be (a) music...- ngower

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Curious: if I were to use optical out of TV into an Asgard/Mobi DAC, am I losing anything up until the optical audio's lossy transfer? IF starting from scartch, are there any DACs compatible with PS5 that are not sacrificing/skimping on quality?- ngower

Looking for $500-$1k DAC/amp/headphone combo compatible with PS5 and ATV
Hello, I've recently moved into a single room and am without my hi-fi set up. Looking for a decent desktop setup for listening while at work, for listening to PS5 games and for watching TV/movies on Apple TV 4k. Currently have a Maverick Audio Tubemagic D1 and Sennheiser HD555/Grado Sr80e from...- ngower

Bicycle-Fi!
Hey guys! So I'm looking into doing my own repairs/assembly/disassembly/fixes/etc to my bike, but the problem is, I've got no tools. If you were to start from scratch, meaning assume I have NOTHING, what would you grab? I'm worried about the essentials first, and I'm on a student's budget, but I...- ngower

Wisest way to upgrade?
Went to purchase an NAD C356BEE this morning, had some frustrating issues regarding holds/AVS mismatch, so I'll have to wait for the holds to clear and re-place the order tomorrow. I figure this plus some upgraded PSB's eventually will suffice rather nicely. I love the NAD sound, was hesitant...- ngower

Wisest way to upgrade?
Hey guys, me again. My NAD amp is taking quite some time to return, by the time I get it back the semester will nearly be over. I have been considering purchasing the Rega Brio 3 and selling my amp when it gets back, as well as the modest preamp I have now. I have been considering purchasing a...- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
I think I've all but settled on an MIM strat, just going to wait until I head out to the store and ask the people that work there some questions, make sure they think I'm going the proper route. Only thing I've not yet settled on is amplification. Won't need anything beefy, just a small...- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
No more than $1000, ideally around $800. There's an American Special Strat on Amazon for $800 and I was looking at a PodXT for around $300, hooking it up to my current system or using my headphones.- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
So I'm getting nearly $2,000 on my tax return! YAY ME! I'm not going to spend it all on a guitar, but I can up my original budget slightly now. Would you guys still advise going the Yamaha route, or should I just pony up for something nicer? Also, any amp and distortion pedal recommendations to...- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
I've been second-guessing the MexiStrat idea. I just don't know if $500 is the way to go for my first guitar. I did enquire on Craigslist about a Fender strat of some sort, I think an 03 Mexistrat, that is selling for $200. I'm thinking more and more to just get a Yamaha Pacifica 112v and...- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
I'm in school so I know I'm not going to have a whole lot of time regardless of what I get. I'm debating on getting the $500 Fender Strat or just starting off with the sub-$300 Squire Strat, as that seems to be a pretty good starting point for beginners. Just going to start learning punk riffs...- ngower

Guitar-fi anyone?
Looking into using my tax return to pick up a guitar, just curious what you guys would recommend? It would be my first. I'm not really into the acoustic sound, I mean I like songs and artists that use it, but I'm much more a fan of Sonic Youth, MBV, JAMC, etc that have that really fuzzy sound...- ngower

NAD C326BEE issues...
NAD said it's still under warranty, so I should only have to pay the shipping to and the rest will be covered. I'll be trying to mail it out this week, I'll update you guys once I find out more (for archival purposes in the instance anyone else has issues).- ngower

NAD C326BEE issues...
How expensive was that? I'm trying to grasp how much this is going to cost. I think NAD offer a two year warranty, so I'm sure this would cover it, but I can't get in contact with them until tomorrow.- ngower

NAD C326BEE issues...
On occasion it will not go into standby and the LED simply turns red, and the only way to get the amp functional again is to turn it off using the switch in the back and then back on. I was using it tonight and it popped like it does when it's going to turn off but kept playing. Got...- ngower
