Replacing broken Equipment. Need recommendations :)
Hello everybody. I have recently fried my AKG 702 and my RE0 phones because my Headroom Micro Amp was toast and I didn't know it was going to destroy my headphones when I connected them :( I will likely find a replacement driver for the AKG (please point me in the direction of a video on...- neil.belt

Stellar low frequency cans....Which are best.
Currently I use my AKG K702s for a lot of my listening, but I want something that can take on my hard rock and pop/hip hop music with a little more punch. I don't like the rattle in my ears, but I want to hear the lows very clearly. My headroom micro amp has also failed, so I am looking to...- neil.belt

Question on older amp: Sony TA-N330ES Ohm load Questions
Oh, no :( I just found out that the amp is not working. I am trying to get ahold of the seller, but it might not be possible. I looked over all of the circuits and found that the piece that is burnt out is a Sanken Transistor http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/SANKEN-SANKEN-/2SC2921 The...- neil.belt

Question on older amp: Sony TA-N330ES Ohm load Questions
I just picked this amp up to run additional speakers and I have a question about the output if anybody might be able to help. I would like to run one side A with full range speakers, and the other B as a bridged mono connection for a subwoofer. I would run A speakers at 8 ohms and the...- neil.belt

Classical Recommendations
Hello everybody. I have a decent collection of classical, but I am just getting started on my Hi-fi collection and I am replacing all of my 128k mp3 with flac material. I don't know much about the different types of classical music. What is Adagio, or Adante, etc, stuff like that. I picked... -
Disappointed in Base (K702's) Denon D5000's Instead???
Alright, I am familiar with the Markl mod now and I already have the materials for that so I think this is a done deal. I think that I will just get the D2000's and mod them, unless I find a super deal on some D5000's. Thanks, Neil- neil.belt

Disappointed in Base (K702's) Denon D5000's Instead???
Thank you all for the responses. I have used the eq in foobar to up the bass a few db but these headphones start to distort fairly easily with too much gain. I think that I will hold on to the K702's since a lot of people seem to regret selling theirs from what I have heard and I really do...- neil.belt

Disappointed in Base (K702's) Denon D5000's Instead???
So I just got my set up and I am really amazed with how wonderful it sounds with one complaint.... I listen to a lot of new pop, old rock and some trance as well as my classical music and these K702's just don't rock me enough for that. I really need to have some headphones that perform well...- neil.belt

FiiO e7 vs. Headroom Total Bit
Any feedback on the quality of the Fiio e7? I am looking at getting the D-10, the matching micro dac for my hr micro amp (9v version), or possibly spending much more on the pico dac or other higher end dac. Mostly I'm interested in the dac side of this piece of equipment, although I would...- neil.belt

Which one is right for me? IEM
There seem to be so many choices with IEM's out there and I'm just getting started with a good set-up so it's just too confusing. Right now I have a HR Micro Amp on the way used from another Head Fi member. I am looking for a DAC, thinking maybe I will get a Pico DAC or maybe go with a D-10...- neil.belt

Ipod to DAC via USB?
Hello everybody. I have a newb question about ipods. I am trying to figure out a good source and I get a lot of music from itunes so I would like to be able to use an ipod and a portable dac if that is possible. I don't want to have to get the ipod modded (Imod), I would rather ensure that...- neil.belt

Newb looking for a basic start (Total Bithead?)
I think that my changes in gear are coming from my upgrade path that I would like to achieve and I do not like to waste money on temporary solutions. I think now that I see an inexpensive entry level amp/dac as a temporary solution and I would like to try to invest in obtaining a very good setup...- neil.belt

Newb looking for a basic start (Total Bithead?)
So, I was reading up a bit and I made myself sick reading about balanced amps and the headphone/upgrade necessary but I think that this might be worth holding out for in the long term of upgrades. What do you think? High quality DAC right now for my normal QC2 headphones and about a year for the...- neil.belt
