    HD580 vs. HD600

Always be wary of audio magazine reviews. They often follow the philosophy of "when you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." While this is a good life credo, it does not do justice in audio. Less than 10% of reviews are negative from my experience, making magazine reviews a poor...

Did anyone receive the $80 SCL4?

I called today and they said that the shipment that should have come on Friday hasn't showed yet and they expect another on the 3rd. I'm not getting my hopes up. If I don't get a pair I'm never using guitar center again. Selling a product that you don't have is wrong.

Which impedance adapter? Help me to choose

Since the impedance curve of the headphones by themselves is not perfectly flat, any resistors will change the sound signature. This has very little to do with the quality of the resistors (I doubt that any of these use 20 year old wire-wound resistors). Realistically, all 75 ohm resistors...

Official NYC Fall Regional Meet Sat Nov 10th.

Nice, long time lurker here, I look forward to this. Can you give an idea of how far this is on the LIRR from Penn Station? I can bring Senn HD 650, Grado SR-125, Sony D-25, and a CMoy (nothing really special). I hope someone will bring better amps to try out as I'm currently gunshy on spending...

Need help on noise cancelling headphone

For just slightly more than $150, Ety ER-4p in ear phones are available online. For earbuds that were raved about here a year or two ago at $250, these should be on any list in that price range.

    Fresh KSC-35s – channels reversed?

Don't worry about recabling, they clips pop off of the back of the drivers and they can be switched.

pc audio paranoia: jitter induced in system?

It doesn't matter how data is read off the CD or HDD, as long as it has all the right bits, because the data is buffered and clocked on the soundcard itself. Other than the soundcard, no other PC component should have an effect on jitter.

Did I just got bit-perfect output from Audigy NX?

Talk me through headphone recabling questions?

Yes, one is ground and one is signal on each side. On the headphone jack side there will be two wires connected to the outermost jacket, these are both ground. If I recall correctly, the tip is for the left channel and the ring next to the tip is for the right channel. Inside each side of the...

    Audio recording analogue to digital

Marantz CD recorder I don't know what your willing to spend, but this is what I use to convert analogue to CD. I know that it is expensive, however I work A/V while I'm at school. I know that the price is rediculous, but you probably could find some local A/V place that would let you rent a...

Impossible to find shure e2 foamies and filters

I suggested to my parents that for Christmas they could get me new filters for my shure e2c headphones. However it seems that stores that sell shure e2c headphones don't sell the accesories. What is up with that? I find it annoying that bestbuy and other large chains will sell these things, then...

Slight rattling noise in my KSC-35

This has happened to my Koss 35s several times. Each time it was a hair touching the diaphram. You want to check this before you send for warantee because the repair is simple and takes less than a minute. First remove the ear clip on the driver, it snaps out with a slight tug. Remove the foam...

    False advertising?

You guys aren't even reading carefully, it is 3 for $0.99. That means for the price of a bottled water you can have e3c headphones for your portable device, your stereo and still have a pair to give as a gift. My guess is that they "fell off of the back of the truck" if you know what I mean...

DAPs and Airline "Security" X-Ray Machines

An X-Ray is not a magnetic field, there is no damage that it causes to your DAP. Think of it this way, an X-Ray is a frequency of the light spectrum, do you keep your DAP out of direct contact the sun's rays?
