I emailed schiit about this towards the start of the thread...the internal dac modules are not powered when the amp is powered off. I personally don’t see a huge difference from a cold start to a running 24hrs multibit module, there is a difference. But it’s not night and day like some may lead...

I just received a set of aeon flow closed through a loaner program, and upon early listening they seem to synergize quite nicely with the lyr3. And change tonality much more then with my he560.

Just got the afc in the mail today to try out(came Saturday but was out of town) can’t wait to sit down with them later tonight and give them a try.

Consider the he560 over the sundara. I absolutely love my 560 and wouldn’t trade it for any of the hifiman headphones under a grand.

I’m assuming your talking about the chrome on the glass? It’s perfectly normal and is made when they heat the getter at the factory...all tubes have it, some are in different places on the tube and others completely hidden by the base...if the chrome is white then I would be concearned.

I would hope that an audio control room is much quieter then a household bathroom.

Kinda funny, people in the thread a while back were trying to tell me that the he560 would reach 110+dB at 150mw...I throw 4watts at mine and while probably above safe listening levels for long term use, there still not even close to unbearable.

81db is quite quiet...that’s not even reaching hifiman’s efficiency numbers...I’d say if your actually getting only 81db from max volume you are severely under amped.

I ordered mine from the hifiman store which is in the USA and have had no issues with them after proabably a month and a half of daily listening...I think they have various warehouses in various countries but not sure...obviously I didn’t have to deal w customs.
