The Official JRPG Thread (aka Japanese Role Playing Games)
I just bumped an Indie game thread mentioning JRPG's. To quote myself... "This thread deserves a bump for Kickstarter project, Project Phoenix. Any JRPG fans here? I grew up on the classic SNES titles. Phoenix seems so promising. " Nobuo Uematsu is on board :)- MistrDave

Want a Wireless USB remote
Look into the IMON Mini. It is IR based, which is somewhat directional like a cable box, television, etc. I prefer bluetooth connectivity for something like this, and am fortunate to have a laptop with a built in bluetooth remote, but bluetooth devices tend to be a "presenter...- MistrDave

New Nvidia handheld android gaming device... will this crash and burn?
Doesn't matter if something is a good concept. Many good concepts disappear because the market just doesn't embrace them. Having people ditch tried and true gaming means to saddle up with something that has no sense of brand relevancy is a mostly impossible task. Even when something is an...- MistrDave

Mouse -Fi
Nice thread. I'd like to weigh in with my opinion. I have found that any decent laser mouse works as an effective gaming tool. I've known players to use old school Microsoft Intelli-point mice and absolutely raked the competition. Whatever your peripheral is, if you use it long enough...- MistrDave

New camera
I agree with aqsw. The high end/compact market segment has few choices. The Fuji X10 is the overall best performer that matches the posters desires. However, don't expect to achieve DSLR speed from a small sensor. It just won't happen.- MistrDave

can someone explain about frequency on music?
Threads like this are a joy for me. Intelligent discussion, and the audio files certainly provide example. I'm often one to say it is important to understand the science, but even more important to experience real world application. After we consider environment, source, equipment and even...- MistrDave

Games with best sound design...music and sound effects?
I haven't seen it mentioned, but Uncharted 3 has fantastic sound design throughout. Enjoyable on headphones, but even more so on a home setup for the sense of impact.- MistrDave

The Offical Unoffical SNES Thread
Final Fantasy II (SNES), which is really Final Fantasy IV (Later released on the DS, etc) is my favorite music from the SNES era. So glad the re-releases brought about real instrumentals and compositions. Did anyone play Lagoon for SNES?- MistrDave

Best games for music listening
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, soon to be released on the PSN, though I own the soundtrack, is dazzling. Maybe not in the same realm of things you are discussing, but a real sweeping, wonderful composition of music.- MistrDave

Help a noob upgrade from the Logitech Z-2300's ?
Just to add to the suggestions; although slightly above your budget at about mid $500's from a proper dealer, the Paradigm Millenia CT's are a fantastic choice if you want to keep a 2.1 setup.- MistrDave

Head is spinning......headphone overload
The best advice is to hear as many cans as you can so you know what sound you prefer. Some people prefer their music with a warm tone, some prefer it bass heavy. Best is very subjective, which is why your head can spin from varying opinions. Once you decide what sound you prefer, going...- MistrDave
