Going strong 4 years with my Magni/Modi 2 Ubers. But perhaps it is time I upgrade to a Valhalla. See what all this tube stuff is about.

Is that so? I'll have to give it a shot. The one thing keeping me from using my 580s was the catastrophic stock pads. I should have changed em out years ago, but reasons.

I want to say yes. It appears all metal, though can't tell 100% with the height adjustment bits as those appear to have a plastic shell.

Finally got my replacements in the mail. First set was faulty, but my #3381s are running perfectly. Gotta say I'm enjoying em quite a bit.

I'd argue that it is "good enough." A lot of higher end motherboard models seem to have put some effort into their audio hardware. Overall the HD598s don't really need much to drive em... with that in mind I'd say you'll be just fine plugging it into the back. Anyway, I doubt that any...

From what little I've skimmed from this thread... I want em. Here's to hoping there will be a massdrop edition. Failing that my birthday tends to happen every year, so there's always that approach. I'm surprised Sennheiser decided to do a follow up on the 6xx series of headphones. I thought...

I was in the same boat. Decided to jump ship, and get em without thinking. Guess my tax return got to my head. :p With that in mind, I'd assume the Schiit Stack should work just fine with these cans. Looking to get new uhhh... "casual cans" for more casual listening as I've started finding...

I gotta ask, what happened to the donor pair 650s? Seems like a kinda expensive transplant into an older set of headphones.

Gotta say it would probably be my Ultrasone HFI-580s. After a point the clamping pressure was too much for me. And after about a year, the pleather on the ear pads started getting a bit stiff for my comfort. Great sound though. Minimal regret, but still the most regret I've had with headphones.

  For what it seems to be worth.  No issues yet.  Hopefully it'll stay that way. 

I think I have miscalculated quite badly.  Would there be any problems using the Magni 2 Uber in Japan?  I ended up buying it with the US outlet in mind.  From what little research I've done, they appear to share plug standards, and I'll be residing in a part of the country that delivers power...

I've finally decided to nab myself a Schiit Stack for my new setup for Japan.  Should work quite nicely with my Sennhesier HD650s... granted I did skip the Pyst cables since I couldn't really stomach 25+ dollars for 6 inches of cable.  The Monoprice set I picked up from Amazon feel fairly solid. 

Considered using my HD650s, but I think I'll stick to using my HD598s.  They're good enough for what I play. 

Well... I'm happy to say Fire Emblem Fates is living up to my expectations.  Thankfully I didn't let all the drama and speculation ruin the game for me.  Honestly, this is like Fire Emblem Awakening, but better in every way.
