REVIEW: Comparison of 5 High End Digital Music Servers - Aurender N10, CAD CAT server, TotalDac d1-Server, Auralic Aries, Audiophile Vortex Box
I have not seen Monkey's Audio (.APE) support in any server/streamer. It was a great container 15 years ago when hard drive space and internet connection speed were limited. But now the increased compression is no longer a benefit especially that it comes at a price of higher CPU utilization in...- Marcin_gps

Why dedicated PC audio beats the likes of Aurender W20
I agree - a DIY computer build can outperform so-called 'hi-end music servers', but only if both hardware and software is optimized for audio.- Marcin_gps

REVIEW: Comparison of 5 High End Digital Music Servers - Aurender N10, CAD CAT server, TotalDac d1-Server, Auralic Aries, Audiophile Vortex Box
Yes, that was my suggestion :) It's true that using Ethernet one can get decent SQ easier than /w USB, but it doesn't mean that it's immune to all the problems that affect USB-based playback. Having low-noise, low-jitter USB & Ethernet I/Os is the key to success (i.e. exceptional sound). Best...- Marcin_gps

AUDIO over IP - REDNET 3 & 16 Review. AES67 Sets A New Standard for Computer Audio
Hi mourip, Thanks! Yes, I follow everything related to hifi, especially computer audio related. But I haven't tried AoIP in my setup yet. I hear from my customers who purchased the JCAT NET Card that it improves SQ in their AoIP setups. Before JCAT NET Card was developed, I've been using 2x...- Marcin_gps

AUDIO over IP - REDNET 3 & 16 Review. AES67 Sets A New Standard for Computer Audio
There are some folks who ordered it for Rednet, so you may expect feedback later this month. If the card didn't improve sound, we wouldn't offer it. It's the same as with all USB gizmos, just nobody else figured out yet that ethernet has to be treated in a similar manner - with a proper...- Marcin_gps

XMOS XU208 USB BRIDGES - THE LATEST GEN HAS ARRIVED!
No. If external 5V is present then PCi-E 3.3V will be used only for 1.05V regulator for NEC digital core. The JCAT board has a linear regulator which can provide additional filtering to the NEC chip. Without external 5V connected, the 3.3V from computer will be applied directly to the NEC chip...- Marcin_gps

Which Music-Player : Jplay or Jriver?
Or JPLAYStreamer which is our own OpenHome implementation and converts your PC into an audiophile network streamer that can be controlled with most wireless devices. And if you have android smartphone/tablet you can also use Tidal with it. Regards, Marcin (JPLAY)- Marcin_gps
