Focal Clear headphones
Its 'M'-shape Aluminum/Magnesium dome, with solid copper voice coil. Compared to elear the 20khz breakup is moved to 22khz due to the new design and greater control. Edit: Also Focal Clear har 55ohm impedance, while both Elear and Utopia is in the 80's ohm. Also there are 3 types of cables in...- manpowre

Focal Clear headphones
To me the Clear seemed more tonal balanced with the equipment that were used, both Auralic Vega G2 as dac and the HDV820 as a dac. The Utopia for me became a little too bright, while the Clear was a great sound listening, also considering the price level Clear comes in at with HDV820 while...- manpowre

Focal Clear headphones
I listened to the Focal Clear with the Sennheiser HDV820, and that combination is damn solid.. Im impressed with that combo to be honest.!! just a thumbs up for those who consider Focal Clear. I also again - listened to Utopia, and I preferred the Clear to be honest. Seems like Focal has done a...- manpowre

AURALiC owners unite!
I had 2 hours with Auralic Vega G2 together with my own LCD4 and the HDV820 as amp + Focal Utopia and Clear today.. I have to say, Im impresed by the Vega G2. I wish I had more time with it. Originally I came home from a Sennheiser HE-1 demo a few days ago and was confused as hell as the Vega...- manpowre

Life after Yggdrasil?
I guess he said "At first listen, the Vega seemed hyper-detailed and in initial impressions it'd be very easy to think it out-resolved Yggdrasil", Im well aware he was talking about Vega, I heard Vega G2.- manpowre

Life after Yggdrasil?
@Torq thanks for that excellent summary.. I believe you are spot on with what I experienced, as I wrote earlier in this thread I did experience better transparency and liveliness with my current setup than what I heard in the shop with my own music. For all the other comments about comparing a...- manpowre

Life after Yggdrasil?
I thnk I have to audit another pair of lcd4, or mabye check out Focal Utopia at home.. and I have to get my LCD4 into the shop and review the Auralic part to check out what those modules sound like too. Its not that I dont have micro details, just the setup with HE-1 put micro details to another...- manpowre

Audeze LCD-4
Did Audeze make a pad option for the LCD4 ? my local shop recommended going to a different type of pads. Some people locally say they experience improvements without me knowing what kind of improvements.- manpowre

Life after Yggdrasil?
I listened to Sennheiser HE-1 the other day, with for some shop-reason Auralic streamer/dac going XLR3 to the HE-1. I experienced alot of micro details in the music I brought which I dont get with my Yggy - V281 - LCD4, and Im wondering why. offcourse, we cant compare a 60k system to my system...- manpowre

Tidal Masters & MQA Thread!
I knew about this already, and considered to include it in my post, but I didnt want to dig too deep into the technical aspects of what actually happens on decoding level, but for the average user setting the driver to 24 bit / 96khz is the closest we can get to increased quality compared to...- manpowre

Tidal Masters & MQA Thread!
Improvement over what are you referring to ? If its improvement over 16/44/48, MQA is definetely better variant as it has lower noise floor with 24 bits and thereby higher dynamic range. About 44/48 and 96/192 khz discussion, it extends the audible hertz from way above audible area of humans...- manpowre

Tidal Masters & MQA Thread!
Hi @DangerToast, Take a look at this link for proper MQA explanation: http://www.audiostream.com/content/mqa-decoding-explained MQA has 3 unfolding levels, 2 of them are software decoded, while last level is hardware decoded only by MQA certified DAC's. The first level is 24/48 which...- manpowre

TASCAM UH-7000
This is whats nice with forums, you engage with some content and get feedback, and thanks to your post, I went through my fft analyzer, and I found that the test tone was sending signal at +2 db.. I took the test tone down to -1.02 db, and that made the fft different. I have seen that...- manpowre
