    VA / MD / DC meet - Saturday, May 25, 2013

great first meet :) i didnt get to talk to as many people as i would have liked, and i had to leave rather abruptly but enjoyed meeting a bunch of people and testing a load of headphones - the hifimans were all highlights for me, but i was surprised how heavy they were, even after hearing people...

Cans vs Speakers pound for pound.

im not familiar with the RG121, but ithe dt770s are definately not the best headphones under 260 (especially because they are closer to half that price - more like 150-160). and i cant even find that sony stereo on ebay, so i have no idea how difficult it is to come by. but even comparing my old...

    All Time Favourite Headphones

not asking what you think the *best* headphones are, whatever that means - just your personal favourite headphones that you look back on most fondly. this could be the pair that has wowed you the most over the years, or the pair that introduced you to the world of audiophilia, or even just a...

Cans vs Speakers pound for pound.

no, but driving a bugatti veyron is still be preferable to sitting economy class between two obese people with a baby crying constantly three rows down. high end speakers in the $5,000+ range, properly set up and well amplified in an acoustically treated room will trump any headphones.... but...

heya, i have a friend who is putting together an album and needs a pair of headphones for editing. he doesnt care about how good they sound for playback, he just wants them to be as accurate and revealing as possible in the $300-500 range. im not sure what to recommend, as i have never really...

Cans vs Speakers pound for pound.

i think its hard to compare speakers to headphones. very different audio experience - i think if you are going to spend less than about 500 headphones will probably be the best bet, but i would rather have a pair of adams a7s than a headphone in same price range. i have a pair of old AR2-AX...

Need Advice! Inexperienced With Headphones and would appreciate help!

your right, i cant say that i have tested them for leakage - im just saying that personally i would just go with earphones if i was somewhere like the library and then buy a good pair of headphones without having to take that into account. especially so as the genres listed were very bass...

true. they are definately going to be quieter, but i still wouldnt recommend them for headphones to wear in a quiet library. id just go for a decent pair of earphones and then buy a pair of headphones without worrying about leakage. if your set on wearing big headphones in a library then the...

^^^^ but as i said - all good phones are going to have a lot of leakage. the mad dogs wont be much better in an enclosed area either (though definately worth a look)
