    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

do you use an amp? I also have a TT2 and a M-Scaler and I found LCD-4 better driven with an amp than just using the TT2's amp. the difference isn't huge but at that gear price I just can't afford to miss out on some quality.

    EMU 0404: Sibilant

i really don't understand how x-fi can sound better than emu 0404. It certainly sounds worse to my ears.

What you said was exactly what I meant, but in a much worse english (from my part). So , yes, that's what I was referring to.

    T-Amp and Speakers

I have a question regarding t-amp. If I buy a super t-amp and I live in romania (we have 220V not 110) will I have to buy another PS, or just a adaptor? I saw the specs and it says "110-240V". I guess that should be enough right?

    advice: bookshelf spks under $500?

It didn't occur to me the ideea of a sub. I once had a 5.1 system for pc and since then I never wanted to have again a sub. It has nothing to do with music, at least, for me. Especially with rock music. It is useful for hip-hop.

    advice: bookshelf spks under $500?

A 500 $ floorstander will never sound as good as a 500 $ bookshelf. Very good floorstanders are very expensive. I have a pair of monitor audio bronze b2 and I am completely satisfied with the bass. It goes deep enough and is very clear. I have also listened to wharfedale 9.3 (very big...

    advice: bookshelf spks under $500?

You could buy monitor audio silver RS1. Very efficient. 90 db. I have monitor audio bronze and am vary happy with them. I heard rs1 are much better.

Is it worth an EMu 0404 or a second-hand CDP?

I have a kenwood 4020 amp and a pair of monitor audio bronze b2. Nothing fancy but that's what I can afford right now. Anyway where I live I can buy an emu 0404 for about 100$. And I am not willing to spend more. And if for this price the emu is better I will go for it.

Is it worth an EMu 0404 or a second-hand CDP?

That's exactly what i will do if i buy a CDP. I will burn FLAC to audio CDs. But I know that 90% of quality is given by the DACs and I am afraid that a 6-7 years old CDP (I don't intend in spending more than a 100 Euro for a CDP) has lower quality DACS than an EMU 0404. I will listen in any case...

Is it worth an EMu 0404 or a second-hand CDP?

I know about Seasonic and I probably will (I have an Antec Silent Power right now, it's not a huge difference). What about my first question? :

Is it worth an EMu 0404 or a second-hand CDP?

I don't deny that and I believe. But I think that hi-fi has much in common with silence. I mean a computer is pretty noisy. My PC isn't noisy (only the power source can be heard) but neither dead silent. And listening to music without the computer running may add something to the music. It's...

    Questions about EMU 0404

I'd like to change my soundcard. I have an a2+kenwood 4020 amp+ a pair of monitor audio bronze b2 and I'm not very satisfied. I have read many threads on this forum about emu 0404 but I still have a few questions to ask: 1. To connect emu 0404 to my amp through 2*RCA I need a special cable...
