    Looking for a warm sound - IE60? PFE 012?

Quote:   that's good to hear about the PFE012.  I worry sometimes "clarity" on threads means piercing highs.  I think i am sensitive to treble b/c I don't think it's too commonly said with SE125.  Maybe mids get too busy.

    Looking for a warm sound - IE60? PFE 012?

Source: sansa zip clip   Music:  varied.  fleet foxes, nicolas jaar, arcade fire, of monsters and men, the weeknd, gotye, tool, some rap for working out.  Some of this may have bright sounds but are high quality FLAC or 320 kbps files.   Preference: WARM sound signature with good bass...

I'm learning I am sensitive to treble and sibilance.  I find it depends what I"m listening to, but I do get high quality MP3 or FLAC.     My klipsch S4s died after 3 years and I guess they must have been pretty burned in because I didn't have problems with these at all.     I tried the...

    sibilance HD600

wow, now i'm confused.  ive been reading the 600 is more "laid-back" than the 595, but here I see some calling the 600 brighter due to this 3-5 kHz spike.   i have the 595 and find for rock heavy on sounds in the mids that this 595 remains too bright for me.  i find the klipsch S4...

    Bi-annual Stumptown (Portland Oregon) meet...February 27th, 2011

as someone newish to portland and head-fi, i'd love to be included in a PDX meet.  i don't have much to bring other than my lowly MS1i.  probably near future will be getting HD 600. sachu - your collection is insane!  any chance you don't feel the need to have two HD 580s?  im looking for the...

Worth getting an HD 600 if...

I gotta say I'm very close to following headphoneaddict's advice and running with udac2 and HD 600...sounds like the udac2 would give best opportunity for adding better amp part later.     I went HD 595 first hoping for a good unamped experienced and found some problems with this.  Some rock...

HD 595 vs HD 600 with uDAC2, computer audio

admittedly some of my sound experience is complicated by an audio library that is being refined to higher quality FLAC, WAV, and lossless formats.     i still find HD 595 too forward with lossless Arcade Fire which seems to be heavy and crowded at the mids.

HD 595 vs HD 600 with uDAC2, computer audio

I"m a budding enthusiast looking for more direct advice.     I've been wanting something less fatiguing than my MS1i which I can't tolerate more than at most an hour at a time.     I arrived at the HD 595 after reading extensively here wanting to see if I could avoid upping the game...

advice on how to move on up

@stevenswall... yeah, i can't stand apple presets!  the cowon name has been catching my eye and i'm lost in s9 vs j3 babble.  and it's not even clear ot me what an upgrade from sansa fuze or clip it is!  i may pick up a clip just for its portability AND snatch up a cowon.    but that may...

advice on how to move on up

@ ZARIM: off topic, but since you've heard the TF10pro, high-end shure, do you like your IE8 more?  im learning i appreciate soundstage and need less fatiguing sound....i can only take the MS1 in small doses.  love klipsch s4!

advice on how to move on up

Currently, 'm working with a ipod nano 1st gen + klipsch s4 or MS1 and really want to make an improvement.  already using high quality data files.  mostly 320 kbps mp3s.  i feel the soundstage could be bigger and the MS1 may be fatiguing with the nano (at least what i thought with a quick listen...

Shure e2c vs Kilpsch Image s4 vs etymotic er6i

I'm probably around near 100 hours burn-in on the S4 and do like the sound; what's written here about it is right on. it's warmer, got a nice full bass, but there is some sibilance and harshness you'll notice to the high end (doesn't happen much for me). the isolation is good with L gels but...
